What about Vorpax and Kiri from MK Conquest.

I don't think they would add characters from the television series... But I do agree, they do need to add more girls to the series. Heck, maybe even as a boss or something.

I'm all for more female characters, but I'm not a fan of blurring the line between the game's canon and non-canon things like the comics, movies, and TV shows.

And considering there was just a lawsuit about that sort of thing, I'm figuring the MK team's going to be a bit hesitant about doing that anymore (thank God).

so they were going to add non characters in games?, well that sounds great to me. you might not like the idea of mixing the stories of the main and non story line but i do ,it's mk for god sakes i would think they would come up with a good plot if they were to do it ,they aren't amatuers at what they are doing. i've said this from time to time now and i will say it again some of the non-characters are better that the newer kombatants we have now plus they have more popularity, and hey if they are goinng o try then so be it they did say it's going to be a totallly reinvented gameand warner did pick up the pieces so maybe. i think warner should work this out with Threshold, i really think they should work together for the next movie to tell you the truth. who knows what to expect

Diluting the already cluttered storyline of MK with NON-MIDWAY creations is definitely something they should steer clear of.

Besides, we already need more than just fluff, comic book-template one shots of characters. And all of those above were nothing more than background, tertiary characters.

More prominence for women? Perhaps. Clutter MK even more with redundant trash of an abortion? No.

First of all, I really have to question just how popular or original these characters are before they can be considered even worth incorporating into the canon and exploring.

I understand Mika was one of Quan Chi's demon assassins from Conquest.....just like Sareena. And Kia. And Jataaka. And Ashrah.
I never even heard of Vapor or Sylence and actually needed to look them up on wikipedia. Vapor is a female Smoke who works for the Special Forces and Sylence is some generic Special Forces woman who kills with a Swiss army knife.

Neither strike me as worth-while additions to the series.


Now, if we're really looking to explore & develop characters who haven't gotten much attention and try to make something out of them, why not work on the ones that already are part of the MK canon before graduating into obscure concepts from non-canon sources?
Like for instance....Kai, Jade, Tanya, Reiko, Dairou, Drahmin, Rain, Khameleon, Nightwolf, Stryker, Smoke, Kintaro, Fujin, Sheeva....among others..?

And again, I must restate that I am not a fan of burring the line between the canon and non-canon. Because when that happens, you open the window to a lot bad, BAD, ideas. Very little worth emerged from the non-canon and less should be (or should have been) incorporated into the games.

Quan Chi's assassins in Conquest were incredibly lame. They should have used the REAL Kia, Jataaka, and Sareena instead of putting their costumes on made-up original characters. There was no reason not to use 'em, those three are demons, they absolutely could be old enough to have been around during the Great Kung Lao's time.

And I've never seen a character from the Malibu comics who didn't suck.

The most I'd probably do with them is use them as a spring-board for inspiring a new female character.

I wouldn't employ those actual characters though.

I would seriously like to see some new female characters myself. Also maybe an unthinkable twist in some existing female characters...like maybe have Sonya follow in Jax's footsteps and have cybernetic body parts or have Nitara with her wings ripped off or broken...Mileena not wearing a mask anymore...things like that.

nah privates are really unnecessary and i don't find it humouring when someone gets hit there it happens too much but yeah nastier fatalities!
