Over on twitter, yet again. I found boon commenting rather legitimately to another user rather than a random teasing tweet. It is as follows:
--------------
ED BOON:
@Deheve I wish I had the time to read your work but I'm completely booked with MK Futureshock and don't have any spare cycles. ;)
--------------
Considering the conversation between the two. it seems tho it is rather legitimate as being on the lines of leisurely communication rather than deliberate teasing.
I still have doubts that MK9 is called "Futureshock" but This, in my opinion, is at least more credible as being some kind of news than something random.
If I am very very mistaken and this holds some other meaning. I apologize. And under such circumstances. The mods may close this thread if deemed "old news"

It sounds too weird. It sounds more appropriate for a war game in the future. Or like the search for the next Raiden. :D

Yes thats actually a really good assumption.
Could be the next MK. With comics they often have stories about time travel and stuff. Could see MK doing that. Gives scope for alternate universe versions of characters too. Could be cool.
They could have evil Raiden, thin Bo Rai Cho, and Burqua Kitana to make some of the peeps in the "Should the ladies of MK be sexy or not" thread happy. :)

Usually when I hear the term futureshock, it's in reference to too much cultural change in short of a timespan (the industrial revolution, the sexual revolution, etc).
I'm guessing and hoping this means that there is a giant information load on the way that's going to send the fans into a frenzy.

Co-Sign.
The dictionary states that a future shock is a physical and psychological disturbance caused by a person's inability to cope with very rapid social and technological change.
Sooo if I must play the speculator role..."rapid change" could mean a rapid influx of MK9 news (a change from the current drought).
the "psychological disturbance" could occur when this influx of news illustrates just how Mature-Rated this game will be?
lol, i feel silly but my speculation isnt as bad as a lot of others floating around here

obveously not. Just reporting what he said.
Ed's latest twitter
"I wonder how devastated someone feels when they get their EIGHTH divorce?"
Maybe nothing, maybe everything. Maybe he is saying that this is MK8 and its gna be called Mortal Kombat Devastation.
Or we will get info in 8 days.
I didnt really wanna make a new thread.
EDIT
OR maybe he just read the news about Larry King filing for his 8th divorce. lol!

According to how right JRF has been in the in the past, I'll agree with him.

Nobody is claiming to ahve a problem with that... or very little to my knowledge. Simply pointing out what Boon is saying is not suggesting that its a title. the thread title cleary has a "?".
Lets not being any negativity. If we all just shut up, thered be no forums....

Because there is no evidence. That domain registration doesn't prove balls.

im SOOO glad you edited yourself. I was just about to scream and yell at you for posting such farfetched-ness LOL
If the game had a sub name it would have appeared in the trademark filing.
It seems very unlikely that they will file another considering the last was mortal kombat filed march 16th 2010.
That seems pretty conclusive to me. Remember that it costs money to patient names thinking logically would seem highly unlikely they are going to file and get charged again.

That's typically not true. The domain for Super Street Fighter 4 is www.streetfighter.com. If anything, they would avoid using the game's title as the domain to avoid leaking the name.
In other words, after three name leaks, they finally learned their lesson. I'm not saying the game isn't called just "Mortal Kombat," I'm saying there's no evidence that states that.

that whole thing with the title being just being "Mortal Kombat"...i said it on that thread and i will say it again. i highly doubt it is self titled. The information clearly states that its making claims on the franchise and just like TUN just said...when a franchise is made into a domain or purchased...it is not always pertained to one single game...it is for the whole shah bang. this site is not really official but it as an example pertains to all the games...not just one and it has nothing to do with a game called MK Online either. so buying the rights to all MK titles yes you would think all the titles would be listed but they won't be because they were made under another company name...even MK9 or 8 whatever it will be was pre-developed under Midway Games. either that or it is just a cover to keep it under wraps to hide it from clever people that dig into this info...like what was stated previously by someone else on that. also...you have to realize it is just trademark and the patents can have pre-dated alteration with original payments.
