Personally, I don't think any of the male characters had "movie star faces" in MK9. And they all had the bodies of a Ken doll. But ultimately, I prefer realism over sexy in a fighting game.

Anyway, I finally got a good look at Kitana's primary outfit and I fail to see how she's been "toned down." She still looks slutty as ever.

It's pretty toned done. It's still revealing but no longer looks like something I would buy at walmart for a cosplay.

I'm not disappointed at all. Fanservice in video games is a peripheral concern at best (when it's directed at me). Really, all the playable guys in the last game had the exact same torso, and therefore, the fanservice-y appeal to me was in their voices and personalities rather than their looks.

I'm very glad that the guys look more varied in frame this time around. Kotal Kahn and Raiden's appearances (dat LIGHTNING) are all the fanservice that I need in this game, though I wouldn't say no to a good-looking Fujin. ;)

That I agree with. Ironically, I thought Jade was the worse offender than Kitana in that department in MK9.

His changing nationalities in the story mode was a bigger distraction.

To be fair, we knew nothing about his nationality before MK9.

On that note, I'm glad MK9 gave us the real names of most of the Lin Kuei. Why couldn't they have done that for Cyrax and Sektor?
