Oh, I never payed any attention to the non canon endings of the 3d era games. I just didn't bother to complete the ladders with each character due to how shitty the gameplay of these games was.

I actually liked Shujinko and will be happy to see him atleast make an important cameo appearance in MKX.

Come on dude. "Not a real MK fan"? I hate it when somebody says that. And especially for a character like Daegon who was pretty forgettable. I know that you like him but don't try to convince yourself that he was this great character. Sheeva is one of my favs but I admit she needs work. As it is now, there's no way he is gonna make it in MKX. The sooner you accept that, the less disappointed you'll be.

Okay, now I'm making a Top 10, it's slightly edited, because I was able to find 10 characters worse than Tanya, also, #1 is different, because I forgot about 1 character that crossed the line of being shitty.

Well, the thread is about naming 5 characters that you think are incredibly stupid, lame and/or useless. Doesn't necessarily mean mistakes.

OK I'm not going to include Mokap or Meat. Someone suggested using Mokap as a practice dummy and I agree that would be a good nod. But giving them actual story-lines is a far greater joke than their actual existence. So here goes my list:

Remove Scorpion from MK, and nothing would be changed in the main story. The only thing would probably just be that Bi-Han would stay a Sub-Zero.
Scorpion isn't important to the MK story at all. He's just there due to popularity.

Why is that jokes on me? I'm not hating Scorpion just to hurt people who like him. That would be INCREDIBLY shallow! I have time and time again posted my reasons on this forum, and none of them involve him being popular and well-liked by others. I might be many things, but I am no hipster douchebag. :P

You are mad, aren't you? Come on, don't take my disliking to Scorpion personal in any way, because it isn't. I would never hate on a character just to annoy someone. As I said to whopper, that would be incredibly shallow!

I have my reasons for not liking Scorpion, and as I said above, I have posted them so many times on this forum. It's not only story reasons, though I find it one of the major offenders, but also his gameplay and his looks. His overall character doesn't attract me at all, and I'd rather he just vanished.

I'm not stupid though, I know it would never happen and I know Scorpion will probably always be the most popular character of MK. I am just not one of the people who support that notion.

The only thing I'm mad about is the argument of story relevance, you bring up Scorpion's story relevance as something bad about the character, when Jade is your favorite character, (I assume) and she doesn't have much story relevance either. I'll just end the argument because I always end up on the loser's end.

This isn't a competition, it's not about winning and losing. If you don't understand my reasoning, you are more than welcome to question it and ask me why I think the way I do. We can have a mature discussion without pointing fingers and name-calling, though I know many on here can't help themselves when first they've started.

Scorpion's story relevance is only one part of his character. Because some people in this thread couldn't seem to comprehend that there are people who'd want Scorpion out of the game, so I took that one example that should Scorpion be cut out of the game, it wouldn't affect the main story.

I am aware that many, if not all, of my favourite character are in the same boat. There's actually only just a handful of characters who are important to the main story of MK.

Shao Kahn, the reason there is an MK tournament.
Shang Tsung, the host of MK.
Goro, the former Champion of MK.
Raiden, the main defender of Earthrealm.
Liu Kang, the Earthrealm Champion who defeats Shao Kahn.
Sindel, the reason Shao Kahn can invade Earthrealm.
Kitana, the reason Sindel turns on Shao Kahn.

Shinnok, Quan Chi and Sub-Zero (Bi-Han) are all part of how Shinnok becomes freed from the Netherrealm, as Subbie gets the medallion for Quan Chi who uses it to free Shinnok.

In the old timeline, Tanya is the one who is responsible for leading Shinnok, Quan Chi and their minions into Edenia, but because there is no Edenia in the new timeline, she is no longer relevant to the main story.

Onaga, Blaze, Taven and Daegon was relevant to the old timeline, but again, due to the changes in the new timeline, they might have been retconned out of the main story.

So to list the characters who are actually important to the main story:
- Shao Kahn
- Shang Tsung
- Goro
- Raiden
- Liu Kang
- Sindel
- Kitana
- Sub-Zero (Bi-Han)
- Quan Chi
- Shinnok

... The rest of the characters are just fillers, to be honest. That includes Scorpion. Without Sub-Zero, there would be no Scorpion. But without Scorpion, there would STILL be a Sub-Zero, but there wouldn't be a Noob though.

That was my point.
However, Scorpion's lack of relevance to the main story has nothing to do with why I dislike him. That was never implied in the context.
