Fifty years since Liu Kang first won the MK tournament would make him...74 years old. And what Sub-Zero would this be, the seventh?
Setting this in the distant future would be interesting but then recycling the same old characters just wouldn't work.

A - Nobody can replace Bi Han as Noob Saibot. It works too well for them to change it. Especially since Scorpion and Bi Han (THE rivalry) are now kinda working together (both working for Quan Chi).
B - Kuai Liang should be brought back, either as human or cyborg. I personally would prefer him as a cyborg. I find him much more interesting that way.
C - Bi Han (Noob Saibot) should be the one to reveal who killed Scorpion's family/clan. It makes the most sense, after all, he was the one who made the deal with Quan Chi in the first place. Not to mention, Noob Saibot has been known to want to take over the Netherealm, so sending Scorpion after Quan Chi gets BOTH of them out of his way.

Well Liu kang is immortal remember in order to compete in the next tounament. Yes some characters would be to old but not if they make them legecy characters desendents who take after thier predessesers
