Mileena's death was lame and pointless. It seemed more like they were trying to showcase how "Badass' D'Vora is.

Before I watched it, I was like 'wow a she was literally killed by a rookie minion' and then I watched it, and even kotal agreed her death by dvorah was pathetic.

I don't know anything about what happens after that in story mode. But I just wonder if IT HAD to be done so soon.

The story looks really good IMO, but it would have been more ideal if she died in the second to last chapter instead half way through.

I haven't watched Mileena's death scene yet and won't until I get the game myself this week. Pretty upset that she gets killed off but if this is the story NRS have intended there's not much I can do about it.
It's a shame because this game looks to have given her the best gameplay and look she's had in almost 10 years. Her 2nd fatality is one of my favourite as well.

I don't even like Mileena but it was a little anti-climatic. However, knowing Mileena and NRS, she'll be back in MKXI. I'd guarantee it.

For the meantime, at least she is still alive and one of the main villains of the comics. The comics are doing wonders for everyone involved in them. So there's that.

As an aside, I highly hope NRS hire Kittelsen to co-write with Vogel on the next game. While I think what I've seen of MKX's story mode is amazing, it would be to everyone's benefit if they bring in some fresh blood.

Every time I hear this, I think of MKvsDC. (Even tho I think that was still midway days). She's not a garuntee.

But if they do hold Kitana to the subzero and scorpion standard from here on out, they better do the same with Mileena!

That's the thing though. She IS a guarantee. With the way they work story mode now, this game was just the start of what they can accomplish on this generation of hardware. The past tells us the first games are always relatively small and then they grow to bigger sizes with everything involved. Look at MK:DA compared to Deception or Armageddon. MKvDC compared to MK9.

Whether she is playable or not is a good debate, but she WILL be back in some form or another in the next games story. That IS a guarantee. And considering how many dead guys came back in this one, I'd say her being playable is a good bet.

Well I'm kind of pissed off that they gave such a popular character, such an anticlimactic death. I was praying she wouldn't die but I guess we'll have to resort to the "Death means..." saying for MKXI :/

Okay you got me there. lol But I think she will be, 100%. They like writing for her as compared to the two you mentioned where I think they have no clue what to do with them.

I'm interested to see where they take her since it's likely she'll end up in the Netherrealm. Aw Yis tbh.

I'm actually really pissed off, and I have been since I found out about this bullshit yesterday.

First they treat her like a pile of crap throughout the entire story, then they don't even dignify her with an honourable death. I wouldn't be anywhere near as pissed of if she died at the hands of Kotal later in the story, but the fact it was D'Vorah of all people pisses me off to no end.

That really shouldn't bother you. D'Vorah was quite a force in story mode. I was afraid she'd be relegated to to misc. lackey #3 but she's awesome. Of course it sucks that Mileena had to die at all but really it only increases her chances of coming back. Each time she's died or ended up in the Netherrealm she comes back.

I would've been fine if Mileena died to somebody else, but to a newbie? D'Vorah is gonna be my new punching bag for killing Mileena bae (even though she's one of my most anticipated character to play gameplay-wise)!

Honestly, I'm not worried that Mileena won't end up in the next game, though. I'm 100% she'll be playable since: a) she's popular, b) she's one of Ed's favorite characters, and c) fan demand is extremely high for her.

I haven't seen the story mode yet but this brings back to mind something that's always bugged me with NRS' treatment of Mileena....

Is she at least capable this time around? Having her being captured and killed by D'Vorah of all people makes me worried that Mileena is right back where she started in terms of being pretty ineffective at her job. I was really hoping to see Mileena step up and go full badass on people.

It grew exponentially during MK:D when her and Baraka were the poster characters.

That's Derek's favorite character, based on this alone I think Mileena will be a part of MK for years to come and more than certainly as playable and her fanbase are pretty vocal.

Personally I think it's just another passing of the torch type situation simply to show that these "Rookies" aren't fucking around anyone can go at any time under the right circumstances.

I'm not bothered by her death since we know that means nothing. It was more for creating a shock factor than anything. I don't dislike Mileena but I don't really cheer for her either?

I'm indifferent on her but her anticlimactic death? In the middle of a chapter? I can see why it doesn't sit well with her fans but fret not her gameplay appears top notch this time around ^__^ EDIT I also found out Dvorah kills Baraka? that shit makes a little saltier now...
