Yeah that's probably not going to happen. It's just a retcon design. From here on out we're just going to have to accept that that's what her mouth always looked like.

I for one and perfectly alright with that. This is a mouth I could understand her wanting to hide in the previous timeline.

I'd have been perfectly alright had they kept the old design, and just done something different in terms of animation. But obviously not worth the trouble, so I can deal 100%.

It's funky, but I like it. It stands out more than the regular Tarkatan mouth she has had in the past IMO

That thing must be bitch to brush though, assuming MK characters brush their teeth of course. One of the other small things I noticed about her that I like is how she walks. If you look at her walking away after she does her fatality she walks like a legit runway model lol I love it

It's definitely different but I like it and it will continue to grow on me.

She actually looks like a Kitana clone now with her Tarkatan imperfections coming through it's quite an epic blend to be quite honest.

Its the best thing they've done to her along with the hair. The lips in combination with Tarkatan teeth as part of her cheeks finally make sense and she doesn't look like a total fucking cartoon character like she did in MK9. Then there's the leather pants.

Off topic a little here but did anyone see the design changes for each of her variations? They only one I noticed was her Ravenous maskless design

I'm not against the idea, but the way it was implemented just kind of weirds me out. Maybe I need to look at it more, but right now it just seems like the middle of her tarkatan mouth is glitched over with a human mouth in the center. It also seems like her front teeth are cracked or chiseled, as if she purposely modified herself trying to look more human, which I think is a neat concept.

Maybe as she aged her tarkatan features recede, or maybe she just went through that much effort to change herself (although I don't know how she could have gotten convincing lips, Outworld can't have that great of plastic surgery could they?).

Maybe she went through some magical Outworld plastic surgery to look more like Kitana! I wish her eyes were normal again like in MK Deception, it helped disguise her true features! I actually had a friend who never played Mortal Kombat before, thought she was hot! He freaking flipped out for the first time when she did her fatality!

Ethereal had some sort of pink tattoos on her arms.

Her mouth kind of looked like the Mileena character from that series Mortal Kombat: Legacy. That her mouth is normal, but when she bites or eat a person the sharp teeth comes out the sides. But I have to get used to her normal mouth in the front, cause I was so used to her fully Tarkatan features

For any who jump to 'realism' - stop and think about how lips like that would work. How are the muscles moving across those gaping holes on either side? Now she's got lips for words, sure, but they're just as fanciful.

She looks so derp. I've seen stills now and I really dislike it - her teeth don't look vicious enough and the lips give this 'kissy fish' vibe that I'm so not feeling.
Sigh. And after they got so much right with her :(


Which is not to say her mk9 mouth was great. That was almost too over the top - and it changed her whole face along with it. She's meant to be kitana's twin but has THAT nose ?!

Why couldn't they go with the comic mouth ? Much more reserved in term of size and width. They look like the kind of teeth a person could really grow with the right deformity (minus lips)

I was really surprised by the new mouth when I first saw it, but I quickly embraced it. Like others have said on this thread, she looks more like a failed experiment now than just a female Tarkatan. She truly looks like an Edenian/Tarkatan hybrid, much more in line with being an evil clone of Kitana and not Baraka's sister.

For those wanting an explanation for her new appearance, I wouldn't expect to get one. I thinks it's pretty obvious that as game tech gets more advanced, NRS can implement more details that couldn't have been pulled off previously. Not saying this was something they always wanted to do to Mileena, but I wouldn't be surprised to see other characters have subtle differences and upgrades to their designs as well.

IDK, I'm OK with the new mouth, but one of my favorites was the Deception one. Truly shocking when she took off her mask. The new ones just haven't been like that at all.

The only thing that is weird for me is that when her mouth is closed her teeth look like they are just painted/textured on her cheeks.

But when she opens her mouth... very good details on the gnarled fangs.

I don't like it because the way her lips are just flaps draping down from her nose means there is no support from the rest of the face to hold them in place. It seems like physics would make it so her lips would be flapping all over the place.
