No veil...the mask she has on in the comics is pretty badass

I think it would be cool if she had a variation that was sans mask. It would probably focus on her grab/pounce moves from previous games, as they make the best use of those choppers of hers.

In a perfect world, I'd say she needs her veil, because the Mileena I loved was from the original timeline. She had far more depth to her.

Raised as a twin but always shunned. Hiding this secret behind her face. Driven to jealousy and envy because of her inadequacy. Then the whole rigmarole of the original timeline... There was so much more to her then. You had motive, you had backstory, you had weaknesses and strengths for her...

Now she's just a villain who doesn't have any character flaws, any depth, any backstory beyond mk9.

So you're right - now she doesn't need her veil. There's no reason for her to hide her face, to be uncomfortable with it. It's utterly meaningless now

Especially since they've so altered the concept of Mileena and made her actually different in appearance even with her mask on -_-

I think the best way to do it would be for her to have at least one variation show her whole face and at least one feature a mask of some sort around the mouth, not necessarily a veil. Best of both.

I'm just curious, and maybe I've missed something, but as far as the old timeline goes where exactly are people getting the impression that Mileena was some low self-esteemed child who was jealous because Kitana had better choppers? Or that her whole purpose was to be Kahn's favorite but he didn't like her because she was 'ugly' and 'imperfect'?

I get that Mileena would be jealous of her, but it seemed like an issue regarding power, not beauty.

A combination of comic book info from the Malibu comics and interpretation of character based on information from the games.
From the ways Kitana and Mileena are described and interact, it seems clear that it's more than just 'Mileena wants power'. Her imperfection clearly has had an impact on Mileena as a character, from the way Mileena reacts in their MkGold endings to what you can intuit from other scenes.

It's, in my opinion, the best character building that Midway did in the old timeline and I think it's the greatest sin of mk9 that they abandoned all of that just so they could have a ZOMG MILEENA'S NUDE scene.

I'm sure her variations will revolve around sais, teleporting, and 'maneating'. The last of which she will be unmasked since it revolves around that

Pretty much how I feel too. I like the idea of a maskless version being associated with a more "tarkatan savage" variation moveset. I like her "peak-a-boo" monstrous surprise potential that the veil/mask provides but I also enjoy the macabe horror potential of maskless version where all pretense of femme fatale vixen has been shed. I think that's what's always been so visually interesting about Mileena as a concept...she's simultaneously grotesque and alluring.

Above all else though, I just hope she's in the damn game.
