I'm really hoping and thinking it's Reptile as well. Don't get my wrong, I love Nightwolf, but he was the only hero that had a good death in MK9. At least let the one meaningful sacrifice resonate for a game.

Because NRS will never give him the treatment he deserves

Why does his treatment matter? He can stay the lovable lackey punching bag he is with what is quite possibly the best moveset of any MK character in history.

Who gives a shit about his role in the story of a fighting game moveset is all that matters.

I hope its Nightwolf. Corrupted into a werewolf fighter.

Nightwolf deserves some awesomness they never gave him, his styles could go berserk and make the character so much more loved.

What? Look at his mask in the comic, it's obviously Samurai inspired. And next time think of something more to say, you look fucking dumb by responding with a made up word.

Do we really need Sabrewulf in MK?

Rather see things from Killer Instinct copied than from Streetfighter or fighting movies.



Nightwolf wouldn't be like sabrewolf, he would have one style in which he can switch form, the other being spiritual and another one being his bow.

If this is Reptile, I will be one happy man.

But, I think I might be disappointed .. It's happened before..

Exactly. Plus, any tournament or war story needs solid henchman, supporting character types. This is generally Reptile's niche. There's nothing wrong with that. Sure, he can develop into a "main character" of sorts, but if not, he'd still be the all-star reptile we all know and treasure.

There are people who care about more than his gameplay. I don't know why some think it's so hard to give a certain character some development. Reptile has had this potential since the beginning. It's understandable that NRS can't develop every character in just one title, but his role and character were greatly reduced in MK9, now it's time to receive some spotlight.

Where are my new characters Boon? WHERE?!

In the comic. I feel like NRS are letting the comic introduce the newbies.

The problem is Reptile is an original. He's one of the classics. He was the first ever hidden fighter and he has a legacy. Instead of living that up, he's a joke. Sure, he may play alright gameplay wise but other than that, not many people give two shits about him because he does absolutely nothing interesting. The best thing he had going for him the past decade was being host to ANOTHER CHARACTER.

And then we have his henchman status of which he isn't a threatening character at all because there are half a dozen henchman I can think of off the top of my head that NRS have fleshed out way better than Reptile; Ermac, Kano, Noob Saibot, Goro and Mileena. They each started off as henchman that slowly grew and got more involved. Reptile has always stayed the same, a snarling idiot that gets his ass handed to him and pines over his lost race and when he got his seemingly "big moment to shine," it was to fucking transform into a different, seemingly more interesting character. That's just sad. Reptile has SO MUCH wasted potential and all they give him is pointless, throwaway crap. As much as Stryker needed his overall re-do, Reptile needs one as well.

It's just pathetic at this point. I know a lot of people only care about game play but what draws people to a character is interest and that grows from the character development point of view too. I'm all for Reptile coming back and being part of this roster, don't get me wrong, but Jesus Christ. NRS need to do some serious work to him.

See, this is why we need Reptile. Look at all these fan's opinions (mine included) of disappointment.

Redemption is at hand.

He needs his Crawl back and he can ditch the Elbow Dash.

Yeah I'm also of the mind that Reptile could still be a grunt and people will still love him. Him being a punching bag never stopped someone from playing as him, especially considering how good he was. 2 things register when casuals decide to play a character: Design and Gameplay. Reptile had an alright design and damn good gameplay.

I'm not saying they shouldn't develop Reptile, but I'm fine with him being a grunt. Doesn't take away from him in my opinion. But at least give him dialogue this time.
