Didn't Shawn troll a bit by saying we already had 2 konfirmed MK4 kharakters? Meaning Scorpion, Quan Chi, Raiden, etc...? lol

Anyway. Liu Kang is one of my ultimate favorite kharakters and I would be happy to see him in MKX. But maybe as a DLC or something, we need room for someone else like TANYA! You know.

Since this game was announced I've been keeping myself from getting my hopes up. Now my favorite character has been confirmed and the HYPE JUST WON"T STOP!!!!!!

Another wasted slot on another worthless bland piece of shit...Add this heap of shit to the trash pile with Jax, Jacquie, Kung lao, and the other revived dead...

Was there ever a doubt? he's the most anticipated of all the revenants.

I feel like Liu is just bland. This may have worked for the first game with his human savior persona, but his character development has been very underwhelming throughout the series. Other characters are leaps and bounds ahead of him in terms of development.

I feel like he needs a huge overhaul to make him interesting IMO. (aka the Firegod posted here earlier) I hope they give him something memorable instead of the same old Liu with some tweaks here and there, i'm sick of the same old bland human form..

Here's hoping.

Can't wait for people to get mad when he returns as a hero once more and mentors that next group of heroes.

Not all character development is a big deal, not all of it is necessary, and not all changes for the sake of being edgy are good.

Liu's not even my favorite character but I wish he would beat the big bad every time. Just feels fitting.

If you guys really think the same old Liu Kang is fine as in then more power to you. I for one will never have interest in him unless he's redesigned. To be on par with characters that had more time put into them. Because that's just the problem with Liu Kang's design is what you're talking about. "Just give him the hero story, a high and low fire ball, Bicycle kick, and dragon fatality. And a sash around his waist this time." I need reinvtention, something with more interest.

Kang's been reinvented as a zombie and spirit mentor in the same game. That was more or less the same amount of changes that every other character went through. I'm just saying people have a tendency to insist what isn't their taste needs to change, even if it works how it is.

I hear what you're saying about "needs to change, even if it works how it is." But i'm sorry I just don't agree with you.. Do you know how much untapped potential Liu Kang has with next gen technology? Any character for that matter. It's just a matter of how much time they feel like putting into a character. And thats the point i'm trying to make..

With the attitude of "Oh just give him what works" doesn't open up potential. It would be a shame to just give him the same old bland moveset and combos. Re-invent him so he morphs into a dragon mid combos or something, you see what i'm getting at? But, I digress.. We haven't seen what they came up with for him, so i'll hold my breath.

I certainly felt like Kang's potential was realized in both the previous gen and current gen games so far.

In Deception/Armageddon and MK2011 he had some of the better and more creative combos and tricks.

He also had that awesome counter and ready-stance that opened up a lot of options for him.
