Liu Kang and Kitana

Is it just me or does anybody else feel that if Liu Kang and Kitana didn't have a child in MKX it would be a wasted opportunity?

I mean it's obvious we still don't know if they do have one or not because not all the roster have been revealed, but I am talking about the future.

If the game releases and there is no son/daughter for Liu Kang and Kitana wouldn't that be a wasted opportunity?

And for people who make the argument Liu Kang is dead or if he comes back he will come back as a zombie, etc...

Just look at Kung Lao and Kitana. They are back and as far as we know they are normal humans.

I say as far as we know, because we still don't know for sure if they are normal. they look normal but something could be wrong with.

I am going off track, I guess my question is Does anybody else feel that it would be a wasted opportunity if Kitana and Liu Kang didn't have a child in MKX?

I really would have thought we would have seen the next gen of fighters in the MK universe include the offspring of Liu and Kitanna, not Johnny and Sonya. I always looked at Johnny chasing Sonya as a comic relief relationship rather than her really falling for him.

I like that they kept Kitana and Lui Kang's subtle romance very subtle over the years. You almost can't really even call it a romance. A child between Lui Kang and Kitana wouldn't be a good idea for the story, at least not at this point. Kitana escaped Quan Chi somehow at some point. I don't think tracking down Lui Kang and getting knocked up were that high on her list of priorities when she got out of the Netherrealm.

I agree that Johnny and Sonya's relationship always seemed like a joke rather than a real thing. It was meant to be funny him chasing after Sonya.

But I am not really upset that they ended up having Cassie. I just hope that Liu Kang and Kitana will have an offspring as well.

I am not even a fan of these two and yet I want to see them have an offspring.

I do wish Liu & Kitana did have more romance together.

Maybe in the next games somehow they will have an offspring.

I wish Liu returned and for once FINALLY accept taking the throne as Edenian's king if he no longer has a place on Earth. And perhaps he'll wait for another 500 years until someone can take his title as champion of MK.

No. Having both died more or less and coming back from that to just randomly have a baby makes little sense and I personally think it would mess up both characters storylines. Plus Kitana's edenian so her baby, even being half human would probably take a couple thousand years for them to even hit puberty. I dont see it working and honestly hope it never happens.

It would only be a problem if he wants to get her pregnant. If her vag doesn't work he can hit it raw with no worries lol that sounds like a good deal to me

Being the Champion of Mortal Kombat gives Liu Kang the gift of immortality in case he has to fight in another tournament to defend his title, but in the long run he'll outlive his friends in his youthful state, seeing them die so this makes him uncomfortable. Then there's Kitana who's 10,000 years old which is normal for an Edenian. So Liu Kang helps Kitana by defeating Shao Kahn and freeing her realm of Edenia while Kitana helps Liu Kang deal with the aspect of being alone and immortal and that's how they became attracted to one another and why they make a great match. It wasn't Liu's dick being erected at the sight of Kitana for the reason they're in a relationship.

Please don't cut my throat for this but I want them to do away with Kitana and Lui's romance.... If it doesn't happen within the 25 year time period then please don't introduce it in a dark & serious atmosphere like MKX

Not sure if I completely understand what you are saying.

But if you are saying that if it didn't happen in MKX then just let it go then I agree with you.

If they don't have an offspring now or their romance doesn't go anywhere during the 25 year span then just forget it because I'll pretty much have forgotten about them.

This is their chance at developing their relationship into something real cool.

Am I the only person that saw no romance in 2011? Like, seriously, I saw nothing.

The only thing that was there was Liu lightly flirting with Kitana before the fight between them in Shang's garden arena. That was it.

Sure, but we have no freaking clue what Kitana is like in this game. One measly little quote from her left me with the impression that she's too busy to get laid that and she's a changed person.

We have no clue if Liu gets resurrected, and if he does, what he's like. And as how many have put it, they kinda want him to be a baddie. (I sure don't)

I seriously want this plot to go away. I don't see anything blossoming between these two because of the way things have been with him getting killed and she getting resurrected.

I personally thought of this alot. Especially if the game ever had a real MK tournament again. There has been one so far aside from the Shang challenge of MK2. Every 50 years one takes place and Liu retains his youth to defend his championship. Cassie is born Jax may or may not have a child. If Liu was resurrected along with lao and, kitana and, found, each other there is a possibility they could have, a child. If it ever happened I'd love that. As well as another official tournament

I agree with Icebaby. There wasn't much in the way of romance in the last game. That's the direction they were taking us but it didn't quite happen.

Definitely leave it dead and gone. The Liu/Kitana dynamic was one of the worst things from the movie that made it in the game. It was always horrible and I never likes it.

The only way I'd be down for a kid between them is if its a fan wielding dude.

Seems to me that Kitana is only focused on tracking and hunting Quan Chi, at least from what we've seen from her.

Actually, I though that in this game we would get Kung Lao and Kitana back to try to confront the mad Liu Kang.

Both being forced to fight someone they really love (Kung Lao as his best friend, Kitana in a romantic way) to make the confrontation more dramatic.

When Kung Lao and Kitana were "revealed" in the same video (we knes about Kung Lao before, but it was the first live action of him), that theory was reinforced in my mind, like there was a purpouse on both being revealed at the same time.
