People had doubts because she didn't look exactly as she did in the 3D games, and because they obviously forgot how many facial makeovers returning characters have always gotten. After all, no fans could look at say, Sonya in MK3, then her MK9 self, and not realize it's the same person (sarcasm).

If we ever see a rotting zombie with a mask and a iron club, expect people not to realize it's Drahmin, if he doesn't look exactly as he did in MK:DA, right down to the flies.

Li Mei is not a Shaolin Monk, so no. Not saying it's Liu Kang either, because I do think it's feminine.

Is it just that picture someone posted where someone put Li Mei's Deception/Armageddon bandana on here and he says "you Mei think you know...blah blah?" Link isn't working. If it is damn that thread title for getting my hopes up...

Anyway when that story trailer dropped I actually had a hypothesis for her inclusion in a couple of threads. There's some other less definite stuff like some blurry ladder pictures that might be something...and last night before this forum blew up with freaking leaks I was starting to think boot 3 might actually be her's. The foot/leg looks feminine and looks pseudo Chinese/Outworldish and could potentially sync up with the clothing she's wearing in the trailer...assuming it's not Liu Kang like the common belief.

My view on her inclusion is fading but it really depends on how many character spots are left. To my knowledge no one knows for sure. It's possible but...

Thanks, thats what I thought. I checked his Twitter and didn't see anything new regarding her. Argh...don't play with my emotions people With these vague thread titles I can't handle it anymore haha.

I'll take this place with endless speculation over places like 4chan filled with people manufacture phony outrage and drama over people liking characters from MK3 and beyond, or even Sonya, Jax, Raiden, and Liu Kang while calling people delusional for saying reasonable things about what may or may not be likely to happen with things like gameplay as they write up their fanfiction for what they want the story to be or calling them delusional for saying that characters always return in some form after death.

Well, Liu DID get fried. Maybe it burnt off some of the fat/muscle. LOL

I have to say that Liu Kang's statue resembles the upper part of his fire god costume (even has the nailheads on the shoulderpads), and that costume shoes didn't look like boot 3.

I feel like Li Mei might be the secret character or will be DLC. They made her model look great. It would be a missed opportunity to just not use it.

Gotta admit the secret character route makes no sense. She doesn't really fit the criteria that was used in the older titles right? She's not some enigmatic creeper hiding out in backgrounds and giving cryptic hints. If we're talking about an unlockable character via a Krypt purchase or some other criteria (beating story mode or something) then that's a bit more plausible.

My opinion is this - if she's in the game she's going to be just like everyone else. Either available from the start or maybe an unlockable. Possibly DLC.

BTW though if anybody wants me to break down possible reasons for Li Mei's inclusion I'll post my hypothesis and accompanying information again.

Did you forget Mokap was a secret character in MK:DA? Li Mei wouldn't be so nonsensical.

I hope she's not DLC, if she's playable.
