It makes no sense for his character first off. If he was such an outlaw, I dont get why he would align himself with Kotal Kahn, and travel in a team with him to places. His outfit suites more of a loner stereotype.
Secondly, nothing is known about any of his abilities or fighting styles, other than the presumption that he is indeed "salazar" from the casting sheet, with the vague description of a weapons mercenary type.
Now I know it sounds like I'm hating, but I'm literally judging by the TWO poor background images of weird angles of the costume displayed in the comics.
I'll hold off further judgement to the character ACTUALLY speaks! or thinks! or something.

Good visual presentation??! the only image of him is a side profile background shot behind Kotal. It baffles me that all this 'great design' jizz is sparked from this when you cant even see the entire costume.

Two poor background angles, and one fairly prominent, detailed profile pose in his first frame, actually. As Sockie said, he could just as easily be a mercenary as an outlaw. A freelance gun for hire is generally a wandering outlaw anyway, right?
No, we don't know much about his abilities except that he probably uses, like, guns or some shit. Just like you wouldn't guess at a glance that Kabal has superspeed or Kenshi has psychic projection. You don't need to know that to see that whatever the hell he does, it's going to be interesting. The same pretty much applies to his personality: you can get a pretty good feel for him just by looking at him. Honestly, I think it would be great if he never utters a single word, and conveys all of his thoughts and opinions and communications through direct action. That would pack a lot of character power, having a literal "strong silent type" who despite being a total mute, never fails to get his point across. I'm not sure how well the writers could pull that off, but if they could, that's what I would like to see.

His design is intriguing, which is what we're all on about. We don't know much, but we will soon enough. He would be a great addition and he necessarily doesn't need to wield a gun as the bullets are part of his design. Sub-Zero has those small daggers on his arm which he doesn't use. They are there for show.

Takeda sliced Fox in half, dead as a doorknob. An early death like that, I doubt he will be in the game playable.

There are fair a number of real people named Erron Black, according to a cursory Google search. If he makes the game, I wonder what their reactions would be.
Makes deciding on a cosplay idea pretty straightforward.

First off, my posts are not about bashing anyone who like the character. My arguments are founded on the repeated 'greatest design' comment when IN MY OPINION, and never calling any particular user out, is premature to judge yet. There's more to a 'good design' than basic clothing elements.
I'm the one getting attacked for waiting to judge a character rather than a costume. Sorry not sorry tho.

But here i'll tell you.
Critiquing is what I was saying about his appearance in the comic, having it not suite someone who is kotal's right hand man.
Whining is what you are doing, because I dont share youre opinion

Erron black looks cool. I do hope he, sticks, around for the game. I am really eager to see the new characters. New characters are a staple of fighters. After all every character of MK was new at some point. Unless we start seeing people from mk4-mkA I'd rather see new ones get reveals. If that's not the plan I rather just not get any reveals till game comes out because I haven't been 100% excited be ause all reveals have been another classic foggter. Don't get me wrong I love everyone so far lol.
Cassie, D'Vorrah, Ferra/Torr, Kotal Khan have been interesting reveals and if Erron Black, Takeda and Jacqui make it in I'm happy. Bring on the fresh blood

I'm guessing the ones who don't seem to have taken a like to Erron Black don't like Westerns, Clint Eastwood, Roland from Stephen King's "Dark Tower" series, or 6 shooters. Yeah he hasn't spoken a word which makes him the more intelligent one of Kotals assassins. Gunslingers are about action not talk. They're about getting the job done. I will main him over Scorpion if he makes it in and proves me right that he's not some outworld dumbass

To be fair... when your post opens up with, "Literally, all it takes is a cowboy hat, a ninja mask, and a cape thrown together over and old Mavado costume and everyone is head over heels for it," that does come across as bashing people for liking him. So encountering some backlash doesn't seem like a big surprise. The opinions in his favor are not unfounded.
To be even more fair, the retaliation against your post, by some people, has been disproportionate to the insult. It's perfectly fine that you would rather avoid reading too much into it at this point.
Let's all try to discuss this with points instead of personal jabs, shall we? No one in this forum needs freaking diapers or anything.

I'll hold off further judgement to the character ACTUALLY speaks! or thinks! or something.

...D'vorah is in that same pose, on the opposite side, and I'd absolutely say Black is the more visually striking of the two. The bullet lined hat, the "Ninja" mask, the poncho. If this design strikes everyone this hard, FROM THE SIDE, than there's no reason to think everyone is gonna shit on it once they see the whole thing.
But, to each their own. We could all be discussing a character that isn't even in the game.

...D'vorah is in that same pose, on the opposite side, and I'd absolutely say Black is the more visually striking of the two.

Good visual presentation??! the only image of him is a side profile background shot behind Kotal. It baffles me that all this 'great design' jizz is sparked from this when you cant even see the entire costume.

Remember back in the day when you walked by the arcade, and all you had to really go on was how a character looked? No back story, no dialogue, just a costume. Maybe you don't. I don't know.
All i'm saying is sometimes a good visual presentation can capture the imagination way better than a back story. A picture's worth a thousand words, etc., etc.

Literally, all it takes is a cowboy hat, a ninja mask, and a cape thrown together over and old Mavado costume and everyone is head over heels for it.

Had this been the first appearance we've seen of both d'vorah and erron, D'vorah would easily come across as more striking IMO.
Not saying that the erron's design will be horrible when seen in full gameplay, but i just dont think its displayed enough to make over hyped comments yet.
