Did people forget that gods reincarnate? Raiden died in the Deception intro and was still in the game. A changed Raiden, but still in the game. As long as Fujin isn't near corrupt souls or something he would come back just fine.
And c'mon, it still sounds sketchy as hell.

Agreed on that part. The fact this poster claims the magazine says he's dead but then might be a big bad makes absolutely no sense whatsoever.

Woah woah woah.. Fujin is dead? Lock up your tables, 'cuz I'm gonna flip em!!
Fujin might become Dark Fujin? Well that's okay then.

Well it would give us the "Evil Raiden" storyline without killing beloved MK icon Raiden, lol.

You really have nothing positive to say about anything, do you? Or do you just rub off on people that way?

Not to mention that Bi-Hand already killed Fujin (and the fire, water and earth gods too) during Mythologies and you all can see small pieces of his torn apart body at the end of this video as proof: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DfGxSlXIkSE
Then he appeared in MK4 like nothing had happened to him :P (btw, I don't know why the other 3 elemental gods didn't return if Fujin came back for that game).

They died in the war against Shinnok leading up to MK4.

Correct, but I'm not sure if MK Mythologies is canon. The Living Towers may or may not be tied to the story line too
Making Fujin become evil will create a story for his character though.

I meant it more like "why the writters chose Fujin to survive that and not the others", the water and fire guys were cool IMO.

Raiden acknowledges Bi-Han's work during Mythologies as canon during MK9.
Everything in OP is true. You can trust me or not.
And trust me that I translated everything properly. I studied Business English so...
You can call me a liar and that's completely fine but I won't post scans here because it is illegal to do such thing.
If you know how to show scans without getting into trouble then just put it down here.

Raijin (Raiden) and Fujin are closely associated in Japanese mythology, so it's a natural pairing. I imagine that Fujin was also the easiest to make a main character out of, design-wise. Fire God was a flaming Raiden clone; Water God was basically just a naked dude made out of water; and Earth God, if I remember right, was freaking enormous. Plus Rain already had water powers, so two strikes against him.
Fire God (Kojin) would get my vote though. Give him something like samurai getup and he could be awesome.

I was actually going to mention Bi-Han killing him. (Or him kinda killing himself?) But I was worried that no one would know what the hell I was talking about.
I think when gods are killed normally they will eventually respawn. Fujin mentioned how Dark Raiden should not have had memories of his former life, but I think that had to do with the whole god bomb thing and dispersing his energies. Of course this is just a theory, I think it's lame to call the gods immortal if they reincarnate every time they die, cuz if that's the case everyone is immortal.

I'd like to see what they can do with these two in all aspects. It has boiled down and boot 6 could very well be Kabal, if not Erron Black or another character. As for Fujin, if he did die, he can do what Raiden did because he is a god.

Kabal could be amazing in this game with it's variation system. I could imagine him having an entire variation built around his dash moves.

Really? DAMN! Out of the 60+ characters in the MK universe including Minor and NPC's, Kabal is the one character I have most difficulty coming up with new special moves (that aren't ridiculously stupid like his MKD move) for.
I could chat for hours with MK mates coming up with moves for everyone BUT him. It's weird.

First of all, have we even verified the truth of this yet? Are we arguing about the OP without confirming its claim first? Because if we are, then that's just silly.
Second... okay, I like Fujin. I mostly like him because it's nice to see Raiden have a little competition in the god department. But one thing confuses me, and always has: Aren't Fujin's powers kind of lame?
WAIT WAIT WAIT hear me out, please. Yes, wind in the form of tornadoes and hurricanes and stuff can be a devastatingly destructive power... on a large scale, like a tornado wiping out a small town. But on a fighting game scale, wind attacks are basically on the level of hitting your opponent with a summer breeze.

My thing about Fujin is he has Wind, which is severely underutilized in MK. Moveset wise, Fujin has more potential than most 3D era characters. He has flight, (Which Ermac now has to but he just floats around) they could give him crazy air combos and serious air to ground attacks. He could be the first MKK character to have air dashes.
Then there's the Wind itself. I can see him pulling the wind from behind opponents to set them up for combos. I think Wind is very powerful. Fujin could shoot a concentrated gust of wind so strong it could break bones upon contact. Or maybe he could summon such fierce winds that constantly blast the opponent, that they actually slow down and Fujin can move faster as a result.
These are just some of the ideas I have floating around. And I know NRS can do better because they're a hell of a lot more creative and imaginative than me.
