Ummm Jade will not be in MKX. It is obvious NRS doesn't think much of her, probably most obvious when EB repeatedly tweeted Jade is dead. Not to mention her moves have been aped for a Kitana variation.

I'm a jade fan, but this theory is just not gonna happen.

Jade was perfect in MK9.

My only complaint was her pole dance win pose.

I thought that was kinda cute...

as much as I miss Jade and would love to see her again... everyone here knows NRS secretly would never allow the boss character of MK to be female...

Boon said VERY early on that the Boss would be a "surprising return character". Jade is not out of the realm of possibility, since her ending in MK9 made it seem as though she was destined to be the chosen avatar for this warrior goddess.

My guess though?

Shang Tsung.

He's not "dead" - Shao Kahn basically fused him with Sindel so that she would have nearly unlimited power. But Shang Tsung is not one of Quan Chi's revenants. He was not in the Netherrealm in MK9. He is missing in action. A powerful sorcerer like Shang? I doubt he will stay gone.

We don't even know who the "monster" boss is. Could be Kintaro. Could be Gorbak. Could be Enenra. Could be anything at this point.

My other guess for the "unexpected return character boss" is Noob Saibot, Reiko or Shujinko.

I'm anxious to see what transpires.

where's Jade? NRS knows they can't just leave Jade's cult fans hanging like that. She'll probably be in Kitana's arcade ending.

That's what I'm sayin'. I seriously thought her fan base was bigger than Sindel, Stryker, Nightwolf or Kabal's. Perhaps even combined, but regardless if statistics were to prove differently, I don't understand why she was singled out. Just about everyone else has come back or is a revenant. Sub, Liu, Kung Lao, Kitana, and Jax are all revived at some point.

I think Smoke is the only one I didn't mention, but he's covered under the revenant category. It's an intriguing question that just begs asking. Why Jade?

I doubt she's the boss, but still. Why only her?

I actually like the idea of Shang Tsung being under the control of Quan Chi and the Shinnok they captured was actually Shang Tsung in disguise. Hence, the "impostor" variation. Yeah, Shinnok steals moves, but it could also have a different meaning.

Whether or not, Jade is the boss or Shang Tsung is or whomever, NRS has done a pretty great job at keeping the boss a secret. I really thought it was going to be Fire God Liu Kang, and it may still be. But I applaud NRS for making my head go crazy trying to figure out the boss.

No way she's the final boss.

After all the hooing and hawing about how she's dead and gone, Boon would look pretty stupid if she suddenly showed up.

Jade's not even noteworthy enough to be the final boss of anything anyway.

At the same time though, this is the same guy who thought we would enjoy spending countless hours playing through 300 annoying and painstaking Challenge Tower missions only to be rewarded with Mileena Jovovich

I wouldn't put anything past him.

I highly doubt she'll be the boss.

But, I have a crazy far-fetched theory on why we haven't seen her.

Tanya requests revenant Jade to protect her in return for working with Shinnok. This is why she isn't with the others, and that when Kitana and co are revived Jade is no where to be seen. This gives motivation for Kitana to search for her friend and a cameo from Tanya with promise of a bigger role in the next game.

Again, highly unlikely. But a man can dream! I just don't see how she could not even have a cameo when every other dead hero from MK9 does. NRS knows she is fairly well liked, so there must be a reason she doesn't appear.

And to all those saying 'she's dead' - yes well done, round of applause. So were all the other characters Sindel killed, but hey we've seen all of them.

Well, that's an interesting theory. I'm thinking maybe we don't see her because Shinnok took her for his bridge, like Kahn with Sindel? Maybe she will indeed show up in the end much stronger than expected.

I'm leaning towards something like this. She might have gotten Tsung'd or something; IIRC she's the only revenant not seen at all thus far. Kitana's 'Mourning' variation title would make a hell of a lot of sense if there was absolutely nothing of Jade left to even resurrect.
