Hindsight is 20/20 but it is not too far of a stretch to imagine someone could have guessed that list from the information that was around at the time.
Sonya, cage, and jax was already speculated from magazines and pretty much known to be in.
Kenshi, and shinnok are easy guesses. And the 4 little kids were all given from either comics or from the casting call. (As was Erron black). Then boon tweets an arm with a bow and the only logical person left for that would be kung jin.
Nothing was too outstanding from the leaked list
All my point is, is that NRS is a developer that I could see purposefully revealing information based off a false list just to mess with people. It isn't that hard to imagine them doing that.
I'm happy either way it falls, mkx is going to be epic.
But this is the first time I can remember that NRS themselves have officially released the entire roster.

That original list was JamessMK. Someone took it several days later from his ask.fm and posted it elsewhere (I think GameFAQS) claiming to be a leak. It originated with JamessMK. JamessMK admitted fully it was all based on guess-work so he really shouldn't get props for getting lucky.
Just wanted to point that out. As far as we're aware, we've had no legitimate leak yet for MKX on that sort've level. All there has been is correct guessing using process of elimination.
You guys are right, It could have been just a guess but what difference does it make? It's our roster, we already know all these characters in the list are in, so what difference does it make?
Hopefully there is one or two more secrets that we don't know about but I doubt it :'(.
