I'm hoping for a few surprises like Smoke and some other characters that appear in non playable form in Story Mode.

They have no choice due to fans wanting to know everything and some assholes who couldn't keep their mouth shut. Chances of boss and unlockables unknown have increased.

Sorry if it's not completely on topic, but do we really know the full roster for sure? I thought there were still doubts as to whether that Tarkatan on the Kove was Baraka, and if so whether he was playable or not.

I know that there's been a possible leak by someone who was dead-on about the DLCs (or so I've heard), but to me, just because someone was right once doesn't mean they'll be right again.

Also, before MK9 came out, certain characters like Stryker were unceremoniously revealed through pics of them just getting pummeled. So is it certain that lesser-known characters, like 3D-Era ones, will not merely lack trailers and/or gameplay streams of their own?

I've been closely following every MK release since MKDA...I don't recall a playable character not know prior to release.

Even secret characters like Mokap and Blaze were known with the strategy guide release before the game...I guess there's a chance for an unknown unlockable character since there doesn't seem to be a guide this time.

So if anything there is only ONE secret, but that's all anybody can hope for.

The leaked roster which came out a week before the story trailer, had all these characters on it and it specifically said "Kung Jin(Bow Man)" before we even knew if Kung Jin was an actual character in the game or just in the web-series, let alone us knowing he would have a bow.

So was the leaked list true? Yes.

Anyone could of guessed that. Also didn't that list come from the same person who is confirming all these dlc

Oh really. Anybody could have guessed it, then why didn't anybody?

People were still saying Kung Jin is web-series only and that the bow man is from Kotal's race, so I don't know how "anybody could have guessed that"

People were still saying Jax is not going to be playable, people were still saying Shinnok might not make it.

So I don't think "anybody could have guessed that", and no it's not from the same guy. That guy just wants attention, the guy who leaked the list never spoke of anything else, he just gave the list and it turned out to be true.

Keep in mind, this list has been out there since the start of Feb, at that time not a lot of characters were shown and yet this list had them all listed to the letter.

We will probably know about every characters prior to MKX's release (if we don't already), but do we know for sure that there aren't any left to reveal for the next two weeks?

I think it's a lot of wishful thinking on our parts. People who still point to characters like Baraka and Sindel need to think about it logically. Of all characters to keep secret, why would they use Baraka as the big secret ?

Until the roster is confirmed by NRS as the "final roster", you can't convince me otherwise.

I doubt a new row or column is going to show up. There might possibly be 2 more in my opinion:
Over the random select - MK usually uses up+start or another button input as opposed to a random slot.

Over Goro - even though he is the pre-order bonus he is still DLC and not apart of the vanilla roster.

Honestly, I'm not sure if there will be anymore character we don't already know. MK likes there surprises, but it's hard to surprise people with the internet so ingrained into modern culture. Either way, this is still shaping up to be an amazing game.

People have guessed that. They just didn't lie and say it was a leak so people over looked them. Like several other people pointed out who else would use a bow? Also people seen jax and others in the tower

The guy who gave the list said that this is the true list, he didn't say it is a guess. o.O

That's my point. Because he said this everyone took a look at it. It was really pretty simple who the characters are. No one wanted to believe it tho so we said omg Fujin has to be in over jax

I still believe there will be a secret unlockable or two.

Why do people want confirmation so badly, we know all the players from that list are playable so what's the point of another thread. That being said, NOBODY KNOWS

We're very close to release date.The leaked roster was legit. Best chances are for a final unlockable but it's unlikely imo.

NRS never leaves anything to surprise anymore...there MIGHT be a story-driven unlockable (such as Cyber Sub-Zero for MK9) which could mean Reiko, Havik and Frost still have an opportunity to make it in. If anything I see Frost as future DLC. Reiko I get the feeling will die in the upcoming issue of MKX.

But hopefully, there will be one (or more) story-driven unlockable that is released to the roster as we progress through the game.

Cyber Sub-Zero was pretty much a surprise up until some jackoff on TRMK got hold of a leaked image, and then bam - cyber sub-zero was out of the bag.

Any one and their mother could have guessed that kung Jin was the bow man.

Boon tweeted a pic of an arm with a bow. And from the list of known characters at the time (yes.. kung Jin was a known name at the time even before the story trailer) kung Jin was the most logical for the bow.

Then why didn't people guess it? Why only that guy? when hindsight is 20/20 it's easy to say that.

No he wasn't. Everyone knew Sub-Zero was going to turn into a cyborg very early in the process.

Now, you could say how he LOOKED would've been a surprise, but the idea of CSZ was a known thing for a long time.

As for the topic, yes, we know the roster. The leak was correct.

You do realize the guy who created that list said it was all just guess-work, right? He literally guessed Kung Jin was the bow user and got lucky.

Hindsight is 20/20 but it is not too far of a stretch to imagine someone could have guessed that list from the information that was around at the time.

Sonya, cage, and jax was already speculated from magazines and pretty much known to be in.

Kenshi, and shinnok are easy guesses. And the 4 little kids were all given from either comics or from the casting call. (As was Erron black). Then boon tweets an arm with a bow and the only logical person left for that would be kung jin.

All my point is, is that NRS is a developer that I could see purposefully revealing information based off a false list just to mess with people. It isn't that hard to imagine them doing that.

I'm happy either way it falls, mkx is going to be epic.

But this is the first time I can remember that NRS themselves have officially released the entire roster.

That original list was JamessMK. Someone took it several days later from his ask.fm and posted it elsewhere (I think GameFAQS) claiming to be a leak. It originated with JamessMK. JamessMK admitted fully it was all based on guess-work so he really shouldn't get props for getting lucky.

Just wanted to point that out. As far as we're aware, we've had no legitimate leak yet for MKX on that sort've level. All there has been is correct guessing using process of elimination.
