Well a character's story is what appeals to me, and Skarlet's was never appealing. Nitara was special because she had her own agenda, she was mysterious, and she made me want to learn more about her kind.

I look deeper into a character i'm afraid, so we would never think the same.

I look at its ability, storyline, appearance, alliances, worst enemies and then I make a own little story around the character to make them more appealing.

Most characters become much more appealing in that way.

I also like Nitara, she's a Vetala Vampire for me tho, just don't want her instead of Skarlet.

Loved the character as I'm a fan of old-school rumor homages. Was sad to see her as just another henchclone. Hopefully one day she'll get a personality. She won't be back for MKX, methinks.

I think she is Toast..y... Atleast for MKX.. We already have a character who eats blood in his fatality (Kotal Kahn) so I don't think they would include another character like that in this game..

That being said, I'm all for her coming back in the next game.

I take into account their alliance and enemies when I talk about story. She doesn't have any enemies of her own, only of those of Shao Kahn. And if her story didn't appeal to me, her appearance certainly didn't either. She's overall bland to me.

Well to me she aint.

Her fatalities are among my favorites of all time, especially the Hostal 2 fatality.

And I think she could have connections with Mileena, Sareena, Shang Tsung, Quan Chi and NItara.

Its nothing to hold your breath over but Ed usually isn't shy about directly shooting down characters that won't be making the cut in his response tweets.

Of course it could also be he just doesn't dislike Skarlet enough to be as blunt in her dismissal.

You didn't care for her appearance? I dunno, man. I thought "Kira in a ninja mask" was a pretty innovative look.

There's an old saying here that I'm reminded of:

"All toasters toast toast."

So basically don't count your toast before it's toasted. It sometimes just needs to be toasted more.

While it's hard to argue that Skarlet got the most interesting back story I do believe they could pull a Stryker and make her 10 times more interesting than someone limited by their DLC status. Kotal Kahn might've stolen one of her fatalities but his totem/grappler vibe doesn't really clash against her speedy projectile vibe. Also, as Kruor proved two KaK kontests ago, there is a lot you can do with blood based powers.

Kruor was awesome. And you are absolutely right. For example, several character use fire in their moves, but they aren't the same. Liu Kang, Scorpion, Tanya, just to name a few. Blood is a more niche element, but there's still alot you can do with it if you are creative enough.

Skarlet had no purpose in MK9 other than being another half-naked bimbette with a mask, and it took her nearly two decades to even get into a game for the first time.

I can't imagine how she would be of any use in MKX.

I don't think Skarlet is Doomed yet but i couldn't care less about her. In this big Nitara vs Skarlet fight i think that the red haired Ninja has nothing for herself. Nitara being my fav char, if she's gone for good to the profit of something like Skarlet, i wish D'Vorah's crazy awesome. And i do love Vampires. The fact that they're overused in pop culture doesn't make a difference with the Vamps i love.

If you like Nitara so much, you probably like Succubi more than Vampires.

Hm.. i liked Skarlet in MK9. Her moveset was good and her fatalities really cool. But i really hope for Nitara, instead of Skarlet.

I mean.. they reworked every char in MK9. I think Nitara derserves a rework in MKX. She has an interesting Story and i could imagine some real cool moves for her.

What was Nitara's story anywayz? I forgot because it probably never got my full attention.

Just throwing this out here, but couldn't they revamp (ignore the pun) Nitara's story and look? I wouldn't mind if she remained a vamp or some variation of that, but maybe hailed from Outworld (that place is full of fantasy shit). And maybe make her more like Selene from Underworld (sans firearms) in terms of her looks. A dark, brooding female character from a dark, magic-filled world.

I'd play her.

Something like an anti-Cassie Cage in terms of personality.

I'd River of Blood Vaeternus the only link to the European myth of vampires for Mortal Kombat. Eastern and vampires as Vetallas Gakis not drink blood (and combine more like inter-dimensional beings), beyond visual Succubu.
