All this evil Raiden nonsense everyone keeps throwing around the place is really starting to bother me lol. The MK Team need a swift kick up the arse. And this wouldn't be a good twist as far as I'm concerned and it just isn't Raiden. We've seen and witnessed enough of his personality to know that he isn't one who wishes to be in a position of power over all beings or that he is evil to the core. He is good and has Earth and it's mortals in his best interests and he has sacrificed much over the years to see about this. He is by no means a tyrant. He is an essence of good that (thanks to the MK Team) has recently been corrupted or simply lost his patience and sight of his beliefs.

Frankly I don't want to see Raiden (and 95% of the old MK roster) in this new 'reinvention' of MK. I want something new, I want something fresh... I don't want another Raiden story, I don't want another Liu Kang story, I want something NEW.

Can't do anything more but co-sign that.

Ok it was a bad idea, I get it. Well damnit its been way to long since we heard anything about MK8 and it's really getting to me. This is probably why I came up wit this dumb senerio because there ain't nothing else better to talk about as far MK8 goes. All we can do is fantacize. Ok dumb Idea but since this thread is called "Interesting twist for MK8" and not "Raiden goes to hell" any ideas guys? Or should we just close this thread?

raiden should either die or have his soul clensed in the Nexus somehow, so he can be good again.

no more evil raiden, no stupid twist making raiden look like the bad guy since the beginning. no, midway totally destroyed this character by making him evil. i'm pissed.

1. How about a cannon storyline? That'd be a nice "twist".

2. How about "essentially realistic"....AND.....fun gameplay that makes sense at the same time?

3. How about deeper characters? Logically involved in the overall story, as well as having compelling sub-plots?

4. How about, if they're gonna have mini games(even rip offs), have them pertain directly to what's going on in the story of Mortal Kombat? Why not at least try to disguise the "rip off" a little more, and only apply the bare fundamentals of a tetris, chess, or kart? Instead of doing silly shit like throwing the God of Thunder and Lightning IN A CAR...! lol The dude is a 10ft conductor...more sufficient travel method would be to ride a lightning bolt or something else relative that is faster than sound.

Not saying I know how to make a better game, but a sore thumb is a sore thumb. After the basics are apparent, then we can talk about the traditional "twists".

1. Make Shujinko invulnerable to everyone but himself. Suspence in the meantime...He could easily be a "Boss character". Well, maybe not since his bio came out.

2. Eliminate Scorpion. What a twist right?

3. Actually give somebody a love interest in the game.

4. Have a sinister woman type that cons a couple of the men or something.....Yea, how about a woman Boss?

Those are some really good concepts ThePredator151 and as far as Scorpion goes eliminating him would be a very huge "twist". A very f'd up one on my part. I mean that's just crossing the line being that Scorpion is my all time favorite charater of the franchise. But that's just my opinion.

I like the idea of the boss being a female, because it would eliminate these predictable huge freaks (Onaga and Blaze) and based on her abilities actually give us a challenge. Maybe she would be as powerful as Jean Grey was in X-Men: The Last Stand. Now that's a challenge.

Maybe she has the power to become a "huge monster" like Onaga or Blaze..

No. Just no. I say a female boss with 3 Weapon Styles! We need this type of character to counter Mokap.

MK had their chance for an evil Raiden but due to the immense shitness of Armageddon this oppertunity has gone.

Now they are saying that MK8 will be totally new, so to be honest, any chance of a serious malicious personality henshin for Raiden is out the window.

This upsets me because Dark Raiden as a costume was amazing, if only they added a really good storyline to this. I want him to be a boss or sub-boss but this will not happen.

Twists are annoying, like when they made Motaro into a minotaur, next thing will be they will give Goro 2 arms, please god no.

Raiden went to a dark hero mode is all. It is like going to back to his MK1 ending personality. Also Raiden always had a dark side to his personality.

Because of his sacfrice, Onaga, Quan Chi and Shang Tsung, he is allowed to express the frustation that is already there.



Losing one's inhibition can make someone darksided. Now my post make sense.
