I am quite shocked, honestly, that no new MK4-Deception characters have been announced, namely Tanya, Fujin, and Shinnok..

I thought they were for sure shoe-ins, but guess not..

Nice bro, and I think Shinnok actually stands more of a chance now that we saw the crossroads stage which reminds me a lot of that one mission in MKA when Taven goes to the Netherrealm.

Ed said we will see an MK4 character that is not Quan Chi and some later games fighters.He also said there will be really fun cameos in the story.

He even replied to a tweet about Li Mei and said she may appear in some capacity. My guess? One of those really fun cameos.

He also tweeted about Bo Rai Cho poking fun at people saying he doesnt fit the tone of the game, sm take that for what you will.

Light-bulb went over my head during the Kitana reveal. That's when it hit me that they were going to re-introduce every major fan favorite, dead or alive.

At best, I'm only expecting 1 3D-era character. Hopefully it's Fujin, but it's probably Kenshi.

Shinnok will be an unplayable sub-boss.

3D characters are being saved for MK 11 for sure.

I recall similar statements about MKX.

When released plus all DLC is all said and done, I will personally be pretty pissed if this is the case. I do not want this to be MK9+their offspring and their new friends.

Tanya, Fujin, Shinnok, Ashrah, Havik, Frost, Kai & Reiko I would LOVE to see playable.

Although I desperately want all of those guys in, I would be shocked not to see Fujin & Tanya with the huge demand for them. And to a lesser extent, Shinnok(if not boss) & Havik.

Well, they are starting the series for the next generation systems, taking a whole new approach with the storytelling, and incorporating new features in the fighting system. I think NRS wanted to take the safer route by introducing all these new developments with established characters of the series (and throwing in some new faces).

I don't know, but that's just my theory. 3D characters (and Rain lol) for MK 11 at this point makes a lot of sense.

Well, some of them ARE trash, ones that need so much work you might as well create a new character instead. But there are some goldmines of untapped potential that NRS is ignoring as well.

Yup, I completely agree. I actually like a lot of the 3D era characters. Conceptually a lot of them were interesting they just weren't executed very well. Seeing how good the characters in MKX look there really isn't any reason to instantly say no to characters.

Now regarding the topic...it's probably true. With that said we don't know the final roster size so it's not doomsday yet for fans of the 3D era characters. I've taken the hope for the best, prepare for the worst kind of mentality. I really, really, really, really, really want Li Mei but I'm not holding out much hope.

God I can't wait for April so these threads will stop showing up every day. Why people can't go back a few pages is just beyond me. Probably not even a few pages, probably would just have to slightly scroll down there's so many of them.

There's nothing wrong with creating new threads. We all like to talk here and there's a lot to talk about. And I rarely check past page 1, and I'd be willing to bet most of us are the same.

I hope for some 3D characters. I don't think they would totally ignore that era

I cant see hardly any of the 3d era characters returning ever to be honest, I really feel sorry for neatherrealm, they are damned if they do and damned if they dont.
For example putting havic in will make 10% of fans jump for joy and 90% bitch about wasting a roster spot.
Best thing to do is work out how many ninjas,sorcerers,kung fu artists,grapplers and spec ops ect and build the roster that way.
We still need a kick boxer or muai thai fighter on the roster.
