Having 2 sides to pick so that we can play with every character.
As long as it's build a bit better than MK9, I will be OK with it.
Deception had a good story?
Wut?

Quite a lot actually.
Konquest was a mess. Aside from that a lot of characters were "just there". The whole thing felt like an attempt to emulate MKDA plot, where all characters served some purpose and were integral part of the story. But instead, in MKD characters were often disconnected from the main plot and main story felt really rushed and half-baked.
For example: Darrius and Dairou haven't contributed anything to the story. Darrius importance was literally the same as that of Mokap in MKDA.

Well according to @Demon_0 CGI cinematics won't work because of budget problems so I guess I can hope for story chapters for the bad guys to.

In light of Subby possibly being Bi Han. I request that they have a plot line of Bi Han being ripped apart from himself by the soulnado into two parts. The good side (subby) and the dark side (noob).
That way Noob is not eliminated from MK.
Also it would deepen sub-zero and Noobs story line's and could potentially create a "tri-tagonist" amongst noob, subby and scorpion.
Thereby taking the classic subby vs scorpion rivalry in a new fresh direction. And for the first time sub zero would be in immediate conflict with Noob who would directly oppose him.

For the game to have a cohesive story, where every playable character plays a role and has at least some development. The story-mode could be divided in different segments to accommodate different POV that would converge in a common ending.

Get us a mode where we can play the original timeline in Story Mode form.
Something extra for nostalgia fans really.

That's true, and Deception is my favorite MK game. But that doesn't mean I don't notice all of it's flaws.
The main problem I have with it is they made all these characters and actually had some pretty damn good ideas, could of done a lot with it... then Armageddon comes out and they literally did nothing with any of them... it's lame. But I mean, lets be real, we aren't going to get some amazing A+ story telling in any of these games and I really don't think anyone should be expecting that either. Just my two cents.
That's why I'm hoping for a more fleshed out and consistent story this time around. Keep it consistent and that's good enough for me.

MKA surely damaged MKD story, because it largely ignored almost all of it in favor of introducing new storyline. The same pretty much had happened with MKD, which while used MKDA as a setup, made rather a shoddy job of using it for a full potential, abruptly discarding several important plotthreads and characters (Nitara and vampires, Red Dragon, Onaga's immortal army).
The thing is MKD is not really a good story. MKDA could be really taken as amazing story on its own, even if you don't know its contnuation. While MKD is just feels awkward.
MKD is not my favorite game in the series, but not exactly most hated. It had some good things: designs of a lot of characters (Ermac, Jade), awesome arenas and soundtrack, Chess Kombat. But, IMO, gameplay was lacking and story felt really off. And some characters were just really bad (Kobra, Dairou, Darrius).

Interesting idea, if a bit convoluted. So, basically it would have made MKX Sub-Zero and Noob Saibot like Nightmare and Ziegfried in Soul Calibur. In light of Subby possibly being Bi Han. It was at least more engaging and interesting than the tripe they shat out that was MKA & MK9.
I think another thing that I hate is how they do the story mode these days. I hate it. It's just a lot of one on one fights. Seems like very little story/cut scenes and just a ton of fighting so it's hard for me to truly care. MKDA and MKD actually placed you in the universe with Konquest, you were IN the story.

I like them too. That said, I do feel like they were a little unneeded. We already had Havik and Hotaru representing that entire Orderrealm/Chaosrealm conflict, it got a little tiresome with making them apart of it..

Opinions.
MKA had interesting core story and if all characters had received biographies the whole thing could have been rather good.
At least it had a lot of potential, like making Cage new leader of the good guys, Mileena finalizing her evolution into her own character, Kenshi not being goody-goody two shoes, Ashrah's sword and the like.
MK9 was just good. Not amazing, but not a shoddy patchwork of stuff tearing itself apart, like MKD storyline.

I hardly can say it about MKDA konquest - it was just text. But if I was to choose between text adventure format of MKDA Konquest and mess of the MKD, I'd choose MKDA Konquest, since it was much more informative and there was no need for guessing what stuff is canon and what's not.
MKD Konquest felt very boring and repetitive after some time. MK-Team should have turned this into full-fleshed separate game, instead making it into half-baked wannabe epic RPG / action game / training mode, which doesn't do any of this things even half-right, IMO. MKA Konquest was very good, though. One of the few things MKA done right.
I didn't like Kobra, Dairou and Darrius at all. All of them felt uninspired with lacking gameplay, mostly copypasted from MKDA and boring designs. Well, Darrius first costume wasn't bad, but this is the only redeeming thing about him.

Different campaings..( i dont know how to spell that..)
for example, one for the earthrealm characters, one for outworld, one for netherrealm (showing Shinnok and Quan chi story)
So among them, they are all related.
and also, more scenarios besides the fighting levels

Having Sektor being the bad ass he really is!
Only thing I would want to request for the storymode is to flesh out the bad guys too. The MK9 story was completely one sided and linear, and all the bad guys just kept getting mopped up, none of them were interesting especially Reptile who deserves much better story treatment.
We missed a lot of cool things about the bad guys in MK9:
We never got to see the romance between Baraka and Mileena and their ulterior motives in over throwing Shao Kahn, we never saw Mileena's maddening jealousy over her sister Kitana, we never saw Sheeva's reluctance of abiding by Shao Kahn's dishonorable acts, we never saw Noob Saibot's transformation, or Cyrax and Sektor's as well, we never saw Kano's start as a prisoner of Shao Kahn and his rise up in his ranks as the only mortal who became a general in his armies. We never saw the Shokan's rage at Goro's disappearance from MK1 and Kintaro's reason for entering MK2.
The disappointing thing is, I can still go on. But yeah, if there is a development team reading this, you have other characters in the story as well and a ton of fans that like to root for the bad guys too.
