Go get an Xbox360. It's cheaper, and the graphics are arguably the same. Plus, 360 has the service call XboxLive. Which means that you can fight people in the same tier as you, and you eliminate alot of the bs around shit talking. Basically, if you complain about something, because you are paying for the service, they will fix it for you.
For ex: A jackass user decides to name himself "[RacialSlurHere]666". You complain because you either are of a minority, or have friends that are of the heratige this user is insulting, that you play with and respect. The Xbox live people ban the user. End of story.
They also monitor, and take care of alot of the systematic problems. Like lag and ping. You want this if you ever play online.....trust me.
Not to worry, with the 360, there is a free online experience, but it just won't as comprehensive. Even though it's still supposed to be better than what the Playstation3s' got. Service is better than no service.
I'm getting the Elite pretty quick here. That's the black Xbox360 with the biggest hard-drive they offer....and it's still cheaper than the PS3. With that, if you want either of these new consoles(360 or PS3), I'd advise you to do like I'm going to do, and purchase a fan or an inter cooler for your system. What that will do is, make the possibility of overheating minuscule. Which is what alot of the fuss is about surrounding these new systems.
Plus, right now, and it looks to be this way for the next year or so, Xbox has almost all the same games coming for it that the PS3 will...but it's the cheaper system. There are Very few exceptions for the PS3 however....and then there's the blue ray thing.
I'm gonna get a PS3 three later down the road.Give it a chance for things to brighten up a bit first.
