Sektor should have been the one to kill him

You are a brave person making comments, speak the truth. However this was all a dream in Raidens head. I hope Shinnok returns as a manipulator for Onaga and Shao Kahn, and their combined form is the One Being. The sub bosses could be those 3 and the main boss a fusion as the one being.

I really wish that was just a dream but I fear that the what we saw was not just a dream.

I agree. They really accomplished into making Shinnok a cool character this time around.
Seeing as he is an immortal elder god I believe it's not the last we've seen of him.

I think I actually prefer him over Shao Kahn. But then again, it's been a long time since Shao Kahn was a fully playable character.

Quan chi on the other hand, he is growing with every game. I like him and wouldn't mind if he is in the next game.

Shinnok or even corrupt Shinnok as a boss was as bad as an idea as having Shinnok as a boss in MK4 and MK Gold. Way too easy to beat and nothing to "special" about him. Also a boss shouldn't really be selectable and IMO should remain as the only unselectable character of the game and have moves and powers that rival any other fighter and Shinnok doesn't seem to have that and never has. Looking at Kahn he had some brutal moves that were powered up and he seemed nearly impossible to defeat but Shinnok I beat first time and a boss shouldn't be that easy.

What?
Shao Kahn was pathetically predictable and easy in MK9 (well, all bosses were in that game). Kahn was brutal, but boring. Shinnok had personality and really interesting moves.
Also, "unplayable bosses" are bullshit.

No, you are fanboyshly stupid and simplistic.
Liu Kang had defeated Shao Kahn twice and he was as powerful as a god (especially in MK3). Shinnok is fallen elder god, not as powerful as his good counter-parts. So, that's explains it. And Cassie far from a simple human.

Unless they give him intelligence and some character, no thanks.

Shinnok is probably the worst thing in story mode: random evil god without a shred of intelligence. That eventually leads to his downfall.

Yeah, Shao Kahn was awesome interesting and very original character. Sure, mate. Whatever, drugs you smoke.

Shinnok was much more interesting, than Kahn, simply because he had more personality than two-dimensional barbarian with a hammer.

Of course, nostalgic fanboys will beg to differ, but they'll take shit for a gold, if it was in their childhood, so...yeah.

God, thank you for saying this. I am so sick of this complaint. Why is it fine for normal human Liu Kang to kick the crap out of whoever, but Cassie Cage can't? If you don't like Cassie that's fine, but acting like this is a plot hole is so silly. Mortal Kombat is about humans fighting and triumphing over really powerful supernatural bad guys, and has been for 20 years. They even explained her power, which they've never bothered to do for Liu Kang.

If I hold a block of ice in my fist I can reduce it to a puddle. I cannot do this to many other blocks. We don't really know what the exact extent of the Cage advantage is - just that it works against Shinnok.

"Mortal human" is a relative term. MK2011 introduced the concept that the Cage bloodline was specially suited to the interest of gods: He is a descendant of an ancient Mediterranean cult who bred warriors for the gods -- warriors who possessed power beyond that of mortals. We might infer their breeding gives them unique ability to fight gods. For all we know, the Mediterranean cult was specifically bred for the gods in order to fight Shinnok - should he arise. There are a lot of unknowns here that don't lend themselves to the assumptions you're making.

What is known: we've always been conditioned to expect exceptional human fighters can defeat overwhelming opponents. Liu Kang was champion for a very long time, including during Shinnok's original timeline invasion. We were always told his bloodline gave him a leg up, too. You can credit it all to that and look at MKX's parity, or not. Either way, there's an option.

What's more readily argued is that Mortal Kombat rarely does the work to earn, or deliver on its characters. MK's arch-villains are frequently built up with anecdotal stories of conquest - but only depicted in moments of defeat.

As it's shown, Cassie Cage seems to be coasting on her bloodline. We know Johnny trained her -- but we might forget that Johnny was always described as having trained with some of the world's greatest masters. MKX doesn't explicitly inform us of either things. So we're left with the comedy relief (who at least has clout from the last game, and the old timeline) and his sassy, relatively untested kid. Which, yes - once again undermines Shinnok, who is only shown being defeated - twice!

Which is all to say - there's a lot to be underwhelmed by. You've got to give the devils their due, though. The premise isn't what's flawed. It's all the other elements. Whether or not more appearances for a villain can redeem them in Mortal Kombat - seriously up for debate.

Exactly. Plus, I didn't hear this much complaints when Johnny Cage defeated Shinnok in his regular form. People were saying they cant believe a 16 year old girl beat a powerful being. Um, Cassie is 16? wow
