How would you feel.It would be cool but it wouldnt work. Both games have completley different gameplay styles.HErs some examples why it woulnt work.
Example 1: Two different gamplay styles. Mk has many different fighting styles and has WAYMORE blood and gore than street fighter. Mk has combos, death traps etc.SF Has more of one dimensional fighting. No styles but many special moves, also combos are made by people who play it lots.
Example 2: if the game has to much blood and gore, decapitations n'stuff, then the SF fans will complain that it is too mk oriented.and gore,And vice versa for mk fans.
Another thing is that street fighter keeps going back and forward with 3d and 2d. And most of there games are street fighter vs........... .It would be something that could make both so awsome like they were once was.I heard that ed boon would like to see SF vs MK. Also thats a lot of characters to put into a game. I thought that was lots for MKA. Maybe they should exclude some characters and have some original music. The only reason that snk vs SF worked is because they are similar in almost everything, fighting engine, graphics and because the guy who made SF went and made snk.I think thats right, if you have anymore points please reply.

Plus, wouldn't they have to work in collaboration with Capcom in order to put the SF characters in there? I think Capcom has a reservation or something like that on the characters. MK and SF are two completely different scenes, so it wouldn't work.

Bullcrap. SF hasn't churned out a real new game since 2000. MK has ascended to asskicking new heights during Capcom's loss of interest in a new title. But we can thank them for RE4.

Combining street fighter and mortal kombat is like combining pro football and arena football. Although theyre within the same sport, they are far too different from each other to be combined because if combined, they loose what makes them.
Ever since the beginning Mortal Kombat has been the "nitty gritty", "realistic" fighter and street fighter the more "cartoony" one. It's just how they were made. Sure conceptially the CHARACTERS maybe everyone could see together, but I don't think anybody understands what Street Fighter would loose if it was slapped onto an MK game. Part of what made Street Fighter, Street Fighter, was how the animation worked with the character's it was unique and sometimes refreshing of MK's realistic and slower moving characters.
Which is the problem with Street Fighter moving to 3D, and especially joining with MK, it would lose a lot of the appeal Street Fighter had over MK, and the characters would just become another Mortal Kombat characters, but in the MK universe they would be extremely mundane.
For Street Fighter to move to 3D, they need to make a fighting engine that is incredibly fast, and a graphics engine that captures the unrealistic nature of each character.
Perhaps this next MK is in face making the steps for that to happen, but of coure, MK loses a little of its own essence in the process.

Not very succesful IMO. I don't think hardcore SF fans would want to see Ryu get his head ripped off by Sub-Zero, lol. Fatality!

it would be a great idea only if the street fighter pple had fatality's

I dont think it would work, Im a huge street figher fan and Im not so sure It want to see them mixed in with MK. Both games are completely different in style. Would be kind of odd. If it were in 2D and the MK characters were a bit more on the style of SF characters then maybe.

Yeah, when you seriously think about it, it's a load of crap...a MK versus would fit more with like, Killer Instinct characters...and still, I wouldn't wanna see stories get all mixed...everything's good as it is, in my opinion...

Not really. KLC meant about an official, non-MUGEN made game putting MK and SF together.ur post is in the wrong place!

how is his ost in the wrong place if this is FUTURE MK GAMES DESCUSSION
Street Fighter vs Mortal Kombat? Having only MK and SF characters to choose from would suck. If it would be Midway vs Capcom, maybe it would be a good idea. Getting to beat the crap out of Capcom a third (or second) time (If you played Marvel vs Capcom and Marvel vs Capcom 2 (Was there a second one, or only one?)) would be good.

Yes, that would be the only cross-over I would tolerate. MK Vs. SF just doesn't work.

Mk characters are more powerful with the special abilities then the majority of those of Street Fighter, to me.
