I'm sure we're getting some from MK4 (probably Tanya, Fujin, Kai and maybe Reiko), but not from MKDA to MKA! And i'm fine with that!

the last game ended up wioth a pretty high bodycount, perhaps the amount of new characters would be the aprox. amount of those who perished, barrinfg absolute signature characters like Subs....


if so, then perhaps the continuation of the story will indeed happen, and it will also be new, since events will play out with all new people around.

So let's count, we have Liu Kang, Kung lao, Kitana, Jade, Smoke, Nightwolf, Jax, Stryker, Kabal down from the "good guys". And we lost Motaro and Shang Tsung, possibly Noob Saibot.

I was surprised as well at how many new characters were shown so quickly. I think I have under estimated just how many new characters they are including.

I think your right, it must be near 12 new characters. Which leaves me a little concerned that it leaves so few spots for returning characters. I am not a huge fan of any character after the original 3 MK's. But I will be missing (I'm assuming) some favorites from MK9. The new subzero has me worried that we wont be seeing Noob. Subzero is one of my favorite characters but Noob is too.

Seems like we'll be getting quite a few new guys. I doubt NRS would show us all of them in the beginning so we're definitely do for some more. I just NRS doesn't them it up.

Gosh guys. Ed Boon tweeted that they are debuting his 2 new favorites at E3. We got Lady Bug and the Ogre....neither of which I liked.

So if Ed sees these 2 newbies as being on the same level as Scorpion (Scorps is his favorite....these two new ones are his new favorites...so yeah), I hope we don't get too many more new characters.

I'm just really concerned about the direction of the game right now.

I'm guessing there's going to be about 8-10 new characters in this game. The roster I could see nearing 26-28. I hope it's around 26, too many characters keep away from fixing, and perfecting other things rather. Quality is better than quantity.

Didn't they debut Kenshi and Li Mei at E3 as well? The precedent for new characters being debuted in a game is approx. 7 and I don't really see that changing.

I'm gonna make a prediction and say that we'll get 6 new characters in the main game and 2 as DLC.

Truth. I meant it to spark discussion but i dont necessarily believe that, it was more sarcasm than speculation.; but indeed it was both.

I was going to edit my original post but someone posted after me, so let me add that I think 9 is the max new characters we would get in one game, I think 10 would be stretching it. I just don't see them bringing in 12+ new characters in one game.

We got two official reveals and one sneak peak in Aztec guy so three is admittedly high, and the MK team may be excited to inject fresh blood into the series after MK9, but the only way I could see 12+ is if you included the MK4/PS2 era characters in that number.

My bet:

8 new character
8 mk1-3 character
8 mk4-mkd character

24 roster :) 6 gonna be dlc, 2 from them brandnew

No, I had the same thought that maybe that ogre is Tremor. I don't believe that, but the thought did cross my mind.

Deadly Alliance & Deception each gave us 8. So I'm going with that. I doubt we'll get more than 8.

Same here. That said I don't know if it's a wise choice on their part having 95% of the cast be new. I mean I want new characters and I'm loving what I'm seeing, but too many newbies could easily backfire and turn people off. Like a poster said last night, I don't want this to feel like Scorpion & Subby are guest characters simply because there's so many newbies.

Again, I LOVE the new characters, I'm just hoping for some of our old favorites to show up.

hm.. me too. i think it should be 12... better less than more. i don't want only newbies there :D i should stay mk overall and introduce new fighters wisely.

And number I'm rolling around in my head now is too many lol.
