Bullshit.

KAK was one of the best things of MKA, despite its flaws.

MK8 should definitely have a KAK feature, especially since most characters won't be coming back. This could be a way of letting us make them and sort of still have them in the game.

I'm with cat1ro and Asesino.

KAK was pointless. I'd rather they work on story and gameplay.

I'm gonna agree with QS(tb) on this subject....

I loved KaK in MkA.

It's the only reason to play the game if you understood the system they gave to work with.

MkA is pretty much worthless without that, and the Konquest mode where you learned more things about the game and its characters, and was able to unlock all the other stuff (characters ect). I don't understand why people don't like it.

So...imO,

Everything after MkA should definitely have a KaK feature. Or at least have say....a side game like MkSm that has a really detailed KaK feature in it and let us fight it out on that.

I was just online with my KaK, they just need to tighten up the system, fighting engine, and add things like:

a. Way more moves...special moves and regular moves.

b. More things to wear and usability for those items that have weapons on them(like Scorpions costume).

c. The Online experience overall, with all the "quitters", "pullers", "abusers", "chicken leggers//axe kickers", and all the other "nick names" for people who "just wanna be in the top spot"......

d. Fighting games in general suffer from "single player" problems too. A remedy to this is coming though. I can just see it. They're already getting close with the whole Conquest mode deal. Dump the mini-games though, unless they pertain directly to the fighting part of the game itself, its story, or character ability and fighting development specifically.

Then it'll be even more fun an experience.

QS(tb) we agreed! YaY! lol.

Keep KAK in the game but if you pick it online, instead of saying 'Excellent' the voiceover should say 'Learn proper characters you loser!'.

Lol at that!

There are loads of ways to improve KAK that I have thought of.

Konquest
Use your character in Konquest to determine his or her storyline rather than the stupid kata thing we had in Armageddon where you couldn't even fit a whole sentence on a page. The system itself will partly create your storyline as you go along in Konquest, thats what the true meaning of Konquest really is. Side missions and main missions can determine your allies and your alliegence. After which the character is improved which can somehow affect the opponents he or her fights in Arcade mode based on what alliegence he or she is fighting on.

Voice Overs
I mean what would be brilliant would be if you typed the name in and the MK game read it and repeated it back. But another suggestion could be the amount of progress you do with the character in Arcade mode, ranging from Shao Kahn saying 'You Suck' or 'Pathetic' when you start off but after playing a while he will say 'Suberb' or 'Outstanding', gives us something to do with our KAK

Templates
We only had normal and sorceror for the males, and normal and tarakan for females. They had loads of others but they took it out for the final release, bring them back. One of the reasons people don't like KAK is because it is expensive buying all the templates when they should already be there, our money should be used to customize the templates rather than buying them and everything.<

Endings
KAK held alot of character endings back to match custom KAK endings. This should be sorted out, if they allow KAK into Konquest then custom endings can be of highlights in the Konquest game. This will allow regular characters to have normal endings again

^^ Summed up to perfection right there.

KAK should definitely continue on in the series with vast improvements.

I think I have a solution for not allowing "god-tier" KAKs to be made for the future. Why not just let us assign our KAKs a real fighting style with all the moves and combos already prepared and worked on like with the real charactes. It would restrict creativity, but I think that would help. It would also make more sense since they're trying to make the martial arts authentic.

I'm fine with either way, but it's just an idea.
I can live without KAK.

They should keep it but improve upon it by adding more items/options and maybe more detail.

If the next MK is going to get a new presentation, it should wipe the slate clean along with kak. I say let the art team focus the best they can on coming up with great looking character and arenas and leave the fluff out of the next game. This next game should be clean and should not have to rely on side projects like kak and konquest to make the game stand out. MK started out only as a fighting game and should go back to its roots of being one. Now this is going to sound like a contradiction and maybe it is but personally, I liked konquest and if it returns it should be like MKA's where as it is more combat oriented. Unlike MKD's konquest. ALso it should feature only new characters. But again if konquest is going to make them stray away from the main feature of the game, (the 1 on 1 fights) then I say don't put it in.

I agree. No need for KAK or mini games.Just a waste of time in my opinion.I said it once and I will say it again. All we need to do, to make MK8 the greatest is to work on gameplay, story, and characters.

True, but mini games and side modes add more content and variety so we don't get bored so easily.

I'd be content if we get only the fighting mode for MK8, but I'd be happier with additional side modes and KAKs.

Konquest, for instance, has become essential for exploring current events in the MK Universe as well as the characters.

However, the fighting mode should always be the #1 priority. Just think of what they could have done with MKA's fighting mode if Motor Kombat, KAK, and Konquest wasn't in that game. Oh my god.

KAKs were nothing but a joke online. Do you guys realize how broken KAKs are when you play online? Any brainless monkey can make a splitting bone, axe kick combo KAK and dominate the rest of the players online. Where's the fun (or challenge in that)? They're fine offline but when you come across super broken KAKs online it becomes irritating. Not to mention the guys who use only KAKs are egotistic. I don't care if they come back in MK 8, just exclude them out of online play.

That's actually the very reason I don't ever use Regular characters. Regular characters play like shit to me. They feel extremely restrictive in the most simple stuff like normal movement. Very sluggish movement, then special moves execute poorly. The very fundamentals of gameplay in the game are broken for every character, but just adds to my dis-like for regulars. Blocking and parrying were key in MkA, but the window of oportunity is too big surrounding these.

See? So, I figured that if I can't get good play out of my favorite regular characters, I'll just make my own. I thought it was great because then I'm not stuck with the way they built my favs. I could at least make my KaK as fast as I like to play, or as powerful as I like to play....I could make them passive or aggressive kharacters, look like I want them to, and so on, and so forth.

Regular characters are terribly unbalanced in my opinion. KaK gave me the opportunity to sorta "fix" a few things.

Btw, I don't have all the bs on my KaK, I built mine to counter all the people who use those things. lol I beat a good chunk of them as a result.

G_gamer07 Wrote:

No I'm not.

And I think excluding a feature like KaK from online play in the future is an enormous mistake. Especially because I find it hard to believe people bought MkA for its:

1. Groundbreaking Gamplay
2. Captivating Story
3. Astonishing Character design

All laughable when you think about it. Instead, I think people bought the game because:

1. Every Character from Every Mk = *OmG! YaY d00d z0 c00lz!!*

2. KAK = I'm gunna 0wn yur KaK d00d!!

3. Mario Brothers influences = Konquest and Kart.
--------------------------

So again, I think it's a good idea to have KaK in Mk8, but I'm not against Not having it. MkDa through MkA had some highs and alot of lows...one of the most prominent highs that came from MkA was the KaK feature.

Keep, and improve on good ideas.

Of course Kreate a Kharacter's not going to be in it.

Kreate a Kharacter was worthless and everyone on the MK team knew it.

For those of you who still don't know what the game Armageddon was about and admire features such as Kreate A Kharacter, you need to understand that Armageddon was not an incremental step up in the evolution of Mortal Kombat, nor was it intended to be. The game in its entirity was created to put a bow on the current gen MK's and shut up the incesent wining of the fans. Fans wanted this character, fans wanted that character, so to basically shut everyone up the team threw in every single character no matter how worthless and tied in a crock of a plot and worse gameplay than the last MK to sort of say, "there. are you happy" Knowing that fans would indeed not be happy, they expected further things such as you should have this guy from Street Fighter, or this guy from Soul Calibur and such. Therefore they created, Kreate A Kharacter, where you think you're creating your own unique fighter but your not. If you look at the selection and apparell lined up for you, it was almost exclusively made to make characters from other series or video games. Either that or make a ninja of your favorite color, since again they were tired of hearing, bring back human this guy bring back the old that guy. And beyond creating a character barely unique, Kreate a Kharacter offered absolutely nothing content wise; the moves you could assign were either other character's moves, or Li Mei-like fireballs. Making you're fighter a piece of shit to play with after you made him. Although there were those who managed to piece together a fairly cheap character with the right combination of recycled combos and moves. All in all, Kreate a Kharacter and Armageddon offered nothing in terms of the evolutionary progress of the game itself, nor were they ever intended to be. Which is why, I can assure you, KAK will not be present in MK8, or any Mk's in the future for that fact

I didn't mean you Pred. I've played your KAK. You and a few others are the ones with actual LEGIT KAKs.

Also I mean the guys with super broken KAKs (which is like 75% of the people in the lobby) are egotistic. They get all happy and prance around like a little school girl when they beat you. Thinking it means something when they beat a regular character with a broken KAK. That's what annoys me the most.
