I think that Havik is trying to bring back Shao Kahn by using Reiko's body. Shao Kahn's body is gone because the Elder Gods destroyed it. Havik is trying to free his soul and is planning on giving him Reiko's body as a similar replacement.

Well get two variations for Reiko. One for the actual Reiko and one for Shao Kahn/Reiko

The full extent of his scheme hasn't been revealed yet, it may lead to ultimate chaos, or are referring to his role as chessmaster?

Yeah, someone who is playing a pretty major role equals de-confirmed. Nothing wrong that logic AT ALL.

Exactly. At this point, Havik seems to be the catalyst for, well...everything.

Keeping fingers crossed that he's the unlockable.

I don't think Havik is the boss but he will be in the game possibly a lot. Maybe as a sub boss. Reiko will also be in the game in some form as either a Sub-Boss or Boss.

But there's one question that is more important than any. What happened to Noob Saibot after he was thrown into the soulnado? Why has there been zero mention of him? He is one of the most popular characters in the game. I think they have Big plans for his return

His methods. MKD showed us he would not force anythingin such manner.
This could go wrong badly.

If Havik is playable, this game gets a 11/10.

A character like Havik should show multiple personalities. It has to be chaotic within himself. That's what I'd like to see and why I have no problems with how he's pulling strings... For now at least

Nah, I think Havik stops short at all out destruction. If the one being awakes, everything ends. Effectively that means peace. The end times aren't his motive, everything just short of it however, is fair game.

Im still sticking with Noob as boss. I have more doubts now, but I feel like Havik is doing this all for someone. Noob Saibot very well may be that man. Also, isn't one of the achievements "there is a ruler" or some shit like that? I think Noob takes the throne of the netherrealm.

I think its looking more and more likely that the boss will be bloodgod Reiko and the unlockable character will be Havik. Havik is a fun character who is a fan favorite. He isn't big boss material, just a cleric of chaos who likes to maximize the entropy in the MK universe. I don't see him screwing over Reiko. It might be a sub-boss and boss kind of thing.

If you mean the manipulation through the Kamidogu it could be seen as a way to force people into seeing his way, sort of like releasing the chaos within the ones who're foolish enough to abuse the daggers's power. iirc, in one of Deception's missions, Shujinko helped Havik to "convert" some Orderrealm soldiers. I still believe is a subtle way of manipulation, the user's ambitions and desire for power plays the biggest part in succumbing to his influence.

As long as they don't show him as a generic power hungry freak, it was never about personal gain with Havik, it was all about spreading his philosophy. That's what's makes fanaticism so dangerous.

People are setting themselves up for disappointment.

The boss is Shinnok. Despite appearing at the end of MK9 he fulfills the "fun and surprising" element simply by virtue of being a post-trilogy character and NRS (wrongly) presumed that the fanbase weren't all that fussed about seeing post trilogy characters again so it was a "fun surprise".

I would be over-awed and ecstatic to see Havik in this game, but only now are Ed and co realising how popular some of these 3d ear characters are, hence making concessions, like Tanya DLC.

Man, I want Havik :(

The comic is a fucking tease. Reiko and Havik are the most interesting characters FFS, not fair.

Where has this been confirmed. In the comics it was Bi Han who stole the Kamidogu from the Red Dragon.

It never mentions Sub-Zeros name when we see him infiltrate the Red Dragon, but he's totally rocking a MK3 style outfit.

Not to mention Johnny in the story teaser said "I missed it when we fought on the same side." Johnny was never on a team with Bi-Han, so that only leaves Kuai-Liang.

It does. He's been called Kuai Liang twice in the comics. There isn't a Bi-Han Sub Zero as far as we know. He's still dead or Noob.

My fault I should have specified in THAT first issue his name was never spoken.

Noob needs to stay dead. That's what soulnados do. It's stupid to introduce a story device that kills characters permanently, and then have two characters killed with said device, and to bring them both back. Obviously Scorpion wasn't going to stay dead in Deception, and the Elder Gods intervening and choosing him as their Champion was a logical way to save him and set up a badass storyline. But they can't keep abusing the soulnado. Noob is dead. Noob will stay dead for at least this, and probably the next MK game.

I'm personally expecting Havik or Shinnok to be the final boss. Havik might also end up being the sub-boss. He does look bulkier in this game. I think Reiko is a hidden character, but he's far too important to not be playable, imho. Worst case scenario, he's in DLC set two.

They've used any other excuse to bring characters back. He'll be back in a game or two.

Keeping characters dead in MK is a waste of potential both story and gameplay wise.
