That's not a fact, that's an opinion

By "human characters" I assume we mean Earthlings with no immediate special powers?
It's a very vague definition IMO. Kung Lao has a magic hat and can teleport, does he fit in that category?
Liu Kang controls fire and transforms into a dragon. Human? Wizard? Scientologist?
And then the Earthrealm ninjas, i.e Smoke and Sub-Zero probably don't fit that category because they are elemental and ninjas are just not your average "human".
What about Jade? She's from another realm but pretty much fights like any of the Earthrealmers.
Point is, segregation of characters in this franchise doesn't work. Just enjoy (or hate) them for what they offer.

Yes, it works if based on appearance, I think OP means humanoid characters, in contrast to non human-like races like Goro, Baraka and Reptile

if some of them weren't doing weird poses, then yes. besides blanka, they look like run-of-the-mill world champions in fighting. nothing outlandish besides blanka. (videogame liberties such as a soldier wearing a leotard notwithstanding)

I'm one of those fans that likes the idea of regular dudes kicking some other-worldy ass. It's one of the reasons why Liu Kang is of of my absolute favs.
I mean, the idea that some terrifying, super-human beasts invade our world intending to take our souls become a trained monk's bitch is rather awesome to me.
I understand regular fighters can be dull to many, but some of us quite like "vanilla" to "rainbow choc-chip bonanza super fun time."

That trope has been done to death. & it all came from the character, Batman.

What about Mr. Taffy (Dhalsim)?
I don't mind some of the humans. I'm a ninja whore, and a few of them are human. Or at least were.
It really just depends on play-style and their storyline. Sonya/Cage/Jax/Kano have always been kind of "meh" to me. Not saying that can't change because damn if Kano doesn't look fantastic in MKX.

I dont really dislike them but i do think that they should be heavily dependent on a weapon of some sort if they dont rely on magic.

Was that really necessary?

Don't you dare compare Reptile to Sheeva.
Anyways, I can't really think of anyone who actually "hates" human characters, exept for a banned user who shall not be named.

Raiden (protector of earthrealm) is the main character of the storyline, and the storyline follows the earthrealm heroes fighting forces of evil from other realms for a reason. If you didn't want to play a bunch of humans, then MK isn't the series for you.

Also not true, I'm with him on this one. I like the non-human cast because it is more interesting, sometimes. But I like everyone all the same, pretty much this:

I had no idea Blanka and Dhalsim were "normal" human characters. Guess I'm out of the loop.
Fixed.
It's especially hard to take seriously MK fans who can't spell something as simple as "Liu" correctly.
