To avoid quoting everything, I will just say that I have pretty much have the same opinion as RedSumac on this one.

In the Mortal Kombat (2011) development, people found Kitana's hair to be problematic, which was a legit complaint because the hair physics was just everywhere. And they fixed it. End of story.

To see Jade, Kitana, and Mileena having the same character model was upsetting to me because they all have that disgusting twisted wrinkle look on their inner thigh area. Copy paste work clearly shown. They have beautiful clothing attire and then there's that eyesore.

As already said, the mouth area of Kitana and Jade is unfortunate.
Especially Kitana, as if someone decked her face directly on her upperlip and nose every day of the week.
And no, it has nothing to do with "You're just used to fake women on TV".
I'm not that type of guy whose blinded by photoshopped women and make-up. Hell, you know it's a problem if people compared Kitana's face to Michael Jackson back then. I personally believe that giving the females abs of steel didn't translate so well in that game either. Debatable, but I have no problem with Sonya's face. And I find that Sindel's face is perfect, it fitted her.

I think it's too early for such a thread because of the lack of females shown in the game, but we are told in an article interview that they are working on their females this time. So, have hope. And I strongly believe a female character is shown in the "boot analysis" which already shows that at least the leg models is different in females...or a few...let's make it all.

But they didn't.

I think you really love arguing.

If you said something unresponsible and strange, expecting rebuff is pretty natural, you know.

Sonya's face was not beautiful in traditional sense, it was somewhat masculine, but it certainly gave her her own identity. Cassie looks much like her, but a bit younger.

WOW the lack of new info is causing people to make some crazy threads. I blame Ed and his team for the lack of content to discuss. I've accepted the fact the most of the NRS team has not been close enough to a women to know how to detail there faces.

Kitana's hair animation should have been fix when testers were just starting to play the game.

How is this a crazy thread due to the lack of info?

You know, I prefer the macho ladies in MK over the weak looking dolls we see in every single other fighting game....So, whatever.

Machismo is overrated.

Agree. Kitana and Jade just didn't look right. No, they don't have to look like models, but they shouldn't look so manly either. Being a fighter and muscular doesn't mean their faces should be weird looking. My favorite look for Kitana was in Deadly Alliance, hair and all. Even without her mask, I wouldn't say she looks like some model, but I find her beautiful. I mean come on: http://img2.wikia.nocookie.net/__cb20070919102231/mk_/images/e/ea/Kitana_unchained.jpg

The hair didn't bother me enough to not play as Kitana, but it did look stupid.

But it looks like the hair uses a physics engine, so I don't know about it being an animation problem.

I will say that subzero's straps on his head look really good and flow realistically. So I am assuming the hair will have a similar formula to those.

I am not worried considering the jump in power with the next gen consoles.

I was just about to say, did they though? lol. Yeah they fixed it from the firs time we saw it but it still behaved oddly.

So far, I don't see any problems. Cassie doesn't look manly. D'Vorah doesn't look manly. Ferra doesn't look manly. And their hair look fine.

The only problem with Cassie is her neck, but in one interview it was stated that she is still being worked on so obviously it'll be fixed.

However, I agree with you that neither of these characters don't look manly... But it's a recurring problem I've seen popped up from time to time.

I mean, someone decided to take their time to fix what they thought was wrong with her... I actually don't like their changes.

Although my one complaint about Cassie is that I wished they kept this hair style for her:

Not that the one she has now is horrible, no. I just liked this look a lot more.

I honestly have no issue with Cassie other than her stupid eyebrows... like seriously? they look like boomerangs above her eyes. if they fixed just that i'd be fine with her model i dont have any complaints with her... oh and yea... the neck... other than that i like cassie a lot. i do wish she had her hair down like the other render though, but no biggie... maybe it'll be the hairstyle in her alt? we'll see.

Thanks to that close-up picture of Cassie, I see how bad she looks now. At least her face. Or maybe it's just the picture..

The issue i had with Kitana & Jade's faces in MK9 is that they didn't resemble AT ALL the faces of the past.

Kitty in MKDA and Jade in MKD look VERY different to how they do now, and there's a big inconsistency with lip size, nose size etc etc. It's the inconsistency that bugs me, not the look of the faces themselves.

Yes, also the models looked way too tall, like they were stretched on a torture rack form the Spanish inquisition (the men too).

The hair, well, i laugh at it and move on. Kitty's hair from costume 2 is easier to take seriously (shame the rest isn't lol)

MK-Team never had good track record when it comes to consistency with character faces.
It is jarring, but I gave up on that quite a time ago, after MKvsDC, where everyone looked very different from MKDA-MKA era.

Bases on the females they developed for injustice I'm not too worried.
The female models for that game were an improvement over mk9s.

I personally think Kitana and Mileena should look mileena's deception look! She was perfect!

As long as Sonya keeps her awesomely long sexy bangs (MKvsDC/MK9) and Kitana cuts off that ridiculous ugly worm-thing/horse tail of hers, it's all good. Jade's huge ponytail in MK9 was also quite awkward and ugly at times.

Kitana's best hair model was, ironically, years ago, during the MKDA time. I want that ponytail back. It was glorious.

Sindel had cool hair movement in MKD, I think, but, it looked horrible and stiff during/after fatalities. Really bad.

Hopefully they will fix all of that for this one.

Take a small hint from Lara Croft's hair animation, I say.
