Okay Don't get me wrong, the fatalities are freaking awesome! But i feel like some of the fatalities (Ferra/torr & Kung lao) don't have the best looking fatalities.

The Black outlines are really freaking bothering me. I feel like the Cut-in-half Fatalities in MK9 looked more crisp and less generic than MKXs'
This is just my opinions, please let me know what you guys think and if you agree/disagree.
Thanks :)

It's kind of weird to say this about an MK game but.. I don't think there's enough blood. From a realistic standpoint anyway, MK9 had a huge unrealistic amount of blood, and this game seems to be the opposite. I think they're more focused on us seeing the internal body parts than it being a bloody mess.

The game isn't even out yet, we should save our graphic judgements until release.

The black things showing are the clothing when they are cut in half. The clothing is loose and not pinned to the body, so there would be space between the body and clothing. As said, there is still time to fix it if needed.

We're also seeing really old builds of the game for all these demos and streams.
So I feel like it could easily be fixed in the final version.

I cant believe ppl r even complaining about this lol they look awesome n have alot of detail. If ur expecting graphics like the CG trailer, thats not gonna happen lol at least not now. If they would of used unreal 4,then that would be a different story

I feel like people are really overestimating the ability of any developer to realistically wrap fabric around these models that can be sliced and diced any which way and have it slip off realistically. It's just not going to happen.

I have to say Kitana's is really enjoyable. On another note I really don't see anything wrong with the fatalities so far.

I wish this was never brought to my attention...
Because even Cassie Cage's little hair bun has that black outline. That's not how hair works.

This thread is more towards the "fatality graphics" and not about hair. There is a thread to nag about that kind of stuff.
Oh and you didn't have to reply to my post

For some reason I don't care. Some black outlines aren't ruining fatalities for me.

I believe OP's thread title is not worded properly to describe what they are really talking about. And the focus is the character model. Everyone has a black outline when cut in half from Ferra/Torr's finisher.
I mention Cassie Cage's hair because even the little hair that's bunned has the black outline, which isn't clothing material.
I'm curious to see how Kano, whose shirtless, model will look during this.

I'd imagine they'd be able to if fatalities were a cgi cut scene. Which I am surprised they have not explored yet. (Maybe to costly?)
But yeah, your right these are in game models beings decapitated and so forth; a little bit more tricky.

So what is "the best" then? Seriously, is it because it isn't up to par with what you want, OP? They're the best cinematic, and graphical fatalities the series has ever seen.

I agree that these fatalities are the best the series has had. They really took the gore to a whole new level. All of the fatalities are crazy realistic, and the way that they designed and digitally created the organs of the characters is amazing. I know that this type of "organic realism" was the gripe of many fans, including myself, for the past several games. And now that they have finally delivered on our demands, it looks fantastic.
The picture that was posted actually highlights how good they have gotten with getting the innards right. they have detailed the heart, throat, intestines, and some other organs i can't identify, but it looks like they took a course in human anatomy and autopsy and got an A.
My one concern with what I have seen, though, is annoying camera angles that they selected for some of the fatalities. For example, with Kano's, when he slices their guts out, the camera faces their backs. I would have hoped that they would have showed the actual slicing and spilling of the intestines. On the other hand, Ermac's is the best that I have seen. Very creative use of the decapitation fatality. I love those "decapitated trophy head" fatalities. they're awesome.
I also hope that they still recreate some of the iconic fatalities, namely scorpion's toasty, subzero's head rip with spinal cord, and shang tsung's (assuming he is in the game) soul steal, despite the fact that these fatalities were actually part of a bonus download on the last game AND had been already repeated numerous times in past games. I feel that NOW is the time that they should be included, for this graphics engine would make them look INSANE awesome.
and like reptilefinally mentioned, we should not jump to any conclusions yet. There is still a ton of stuff that they haven't revealed and, like they have mentioned in the kombat kasts that they have released, things are still subject to change. But as far as things are, it's looking damn good.

Yeah that's interesting about the cut scenes. Maybe they have considered it? But it seems more and more games are moving away from prerendered cutscenes and everyone wants to do everything in-engine, so they might be worried about it dating them. That said, the technology they have to do what we've seen seems very impressive, especially compared to past entries, and there usually tends to be quite a jarring visual difference between cutscenes and the actual game. I think they've made the right choice, people are just expecting a little too much too soon.
My "problem" is that when Torr throws the half bodies on the ground, the splitted organs could fall out. If they could make it work with scorpions face slice fatality, why the hell not?
Yes, a brain falling out, and all the organs are not the same, it would take a lot of work to make it, but it would be so epic, that I would probably die, from the overflow of joy.

I just hope we get less cutting-in-half and more elemental and magical fatalities this time around.
Kisses, transformations, demonic stuff, necromancy, shaman magic, elemental powers, non-bloody but very disgusting fatalities.
I've seen mostly cut-in-half stuff and explosions again, not really happy with that.
Kano's fatality is super cool though.
But you need Sektor for awesome fatalities, he's the fatality-master by far.
