MK9 had the same problem, frankly.

The bodies all dissect at the same key points they standardized so that all fatalities can be performed universally to every character. This has the side-effect of making many of the fatalities look the same, as they all cut the bodies up perfectly along the same damn lines.

And I think the development team just has a tendency in general to over-use the "Split down the middle" one, because it's probably the neatest... but yeah...

It's kind of ruined some of their creativity, as many fatalities have just become a means to getting to the chopping guys up along the premade chop lines.

Reptile should have eaten her head like in MKDA.. I don't mind them using old fatalities if they are iconic... But yeah a lot seem to be same with skin melting or having there head or whole body ripped in half

I was think the same thing. Or maybe just had the acid eat away at her face and have that be it and have the "holy fuck" part of the fatality be how gross it is to look at.

I agree, they are fucking shithouse.

I dont mind so much that some are similiar but i have to agree that Reptiles fatality is terrible.
It looks cartoony and dumb that he splits the head PERFECTLY in half.
NRS is obsessed with cutting people in half tech. If it not fits just dont do it.
Why couldnt they do the same like D ́Vorah where the head melts and he crushes the skull. Would be so much better than that goofy perfectly split head in two.

I was excited to see Reptile's until he ripped the head in half. That is a very uneventful, uninspired way to end getting acid sprayed in the face. Seriously, why not spray acid and then squish the soft malleable head into mush? IMO that is the only correct way for it to end with the way it started. Very stupid of them to have it the way it is right now.

I showed it to a mate whos not really into mk, and he was very confused, and even though it looked down right idiotic.

I dont have high hopes for NRS changing it though, they get quite lazy with things like this, which is a shame, coz it could be epic.

I liked Reptile's fatality up until he split the head apart. The head could of been crushed like a cantaloupe instead of split apart cleanly. I hope his 2nd fatality is better

Guys Mortal Kombat has always had similar fatalities especially the really early ones. Just get over it and enjoy the game.
