I got all excited at first then immidiately thought this as well. There's too many characters that don't fit any of those factions, so it's probably a pointless "Pick a random handful of fighters and kreate-a-klan" online system.

I'm just aggravated that it's going to fuel EVEN MORE "OMG! *obscure forgotten character* is definitely in now!!!!" threads. Like we need more of those.

The upper right icon is just a badge you can have for your tag. They had the same thing in Injustice, and KI has the same template system.

In regards to what faction I want to represent, I guess that'll depend which one gives me a UI that I like the most.

I can't remember where I read this but I'm fairly certain a majority of you have it wrong about how this whole thing works. It's just a motif, nothing more. You can represent Brotherhood of Shadow and still use Raiden to gather points. At least, that's how I understood it to work.

Because what would happen if your two favourite characters worked for opposing factions? It wouldn't be fair for those people if you couldn't gather points because of your chosen faction/characters, vice versa.

Soon, Quan Chi will replace the MK dragon as the franchise's symbol. Not a fan of that redesign, but at least they kept the basic shape.

I get the dislike for not including the Shira Ryu but honestly it would make no sense. I don't think were ever going to get SR.2.0. but even if we did, who would be in it besides scorpion? If everyone belongs to a faction he'll likely just be in the brotherhood of shadow. Then again, based off what we've seen from Ermac, some people may be working alone. That and there's no faction for Kotal and Co.

they can't have too many factions for the online feature, or it'll be too spread out and only 2 or 3 will be populated anyway

not every MK character will fit into one of these factions, It's mostly for just online teams, a little extra incentive for making the online more fun/competitive
