So now that Shao Kahn is dead, doesn't that mean Mileena will take his place on the throne, and inherit his powers? I have a couple of reasons to support why I think this. Shao Kahn seems to consider Mileena his "true daughter." Also, there are two people who are talking about how Mileena is the "heir," and how "she should rule." So yeah, I think that in the next game, Mileena will be the new empress of Outworld. I also think it would be interesting for Mileena in the next game to play as a combination of Shao Kahn and herself. Thoughts?

Yeah, but with Shao Kahn dead doesn't that mean the spell he cast on Sindel is broken?

Indeed, there's no real reason to think it's the sort of spell that would end if the caster died.
And even if it was,

The spell was broken the first time just by Kitana talking Sindel into getting in touch with her feelings or whatever.

This time, she just didn't have the time or opportunity to do so because of Raiden's "No Liu Kang, you must come with me and stand around and listen uselessly while I whine impotently to the Elder Gods, so all our friends can die while we're away" dickery.

I would gladly be her servant.
But seriously, that will be interesting to see unfold, lol.

Or you get the political vaacum where the various races battle for control of outworld ala deception. Which makes it easy for he who will win.
Mileena as Empress of Outworld? Well, considering she's still psycho manchild phase, she either knocks it off and becomes more "leader-like" and actually command respect or go "Bring me more cake. Off with their heads" Marie Antionette style.

Reiko works for the Shinnok in MK4. He was Kahn's general in the distant past but died and went to Hell. Then he got his old job back in Armageddon.
Obviously, If he had been a member of Kahn's army in the present day, he'd have been in MK9.
Mileena is the actual heir to the throne. There could be a war for supremacy in Kahn and Sindel's absence, but Reiko shouldn't logically be involved. It would be between the Tarkatans, the Shokans, and the Centaurs. And the Tarkatans are likely to take Mileena's side.

I think this would be a great direction to take her character, ever since MK Gold we've known that Mileena has had far greater ambitions for herself than simply being a political trump card for Shao Kahn
Question is would she be an invader of realms like her "father" or simply seek to unify the chaos of Outworld under the Tartakan flag?

Yeah Mileena technically is now the empress of Outworld. I think it would be an interesting place to take it. Rather than having one solid figure as Emperor you've got a person who can't realistically defend the throne herself so she has to have dirty dealings with all sorts to secure her throne. Given Mileena's mental state it would be interesting to see who would be behind the scenes pulling the strings. I mean Mileena would only be able to act as a figure head rather than an actual ruler since she's mentally deranged. If it was more like deception Mileena then it would be more plausible for her to set up her own regime but insane or not she has Baraka and his armies behind her I'd find it highly unlikely for them not to support her as Empress. Also if Mileena is going to be staying around then it's either make her madder and she can be the total nut job of the roster ( which I'm not overly opposed too, her "She's going away" line in storymode was delightfully insane) or the only way she can develop is to take over Outworld or at least try as a serious contender with her armies behind her. As it stands we had 2 steps forward with Mileena in Deception and a step back in this game. I liked Mileena's direction in this release but I think a decision needs to be made on whether she's going to make good her claim to the throne or whether she's just too off her box to even realize she's the heir to the throne. Mileena has potential to continue as a character whereas sadly for the first time I feel like Kitana has reached the end of the line. Mileena either the heir to the throne or the psycho of the merry bunch pick a side I say.

Perhaps Mileena may form an alliance with Raiden in the next game. Raiden will have access to her armies to protect Earthrealm, and Mileena may request god-like powers in exchange.
