No it didn't....fans named this guy (right) Blaze back in MK2.

Element characters started with Sub-Zero, Scorpion, Raiden, and Liu Kang back in MK1. Then add tecno-mancers in MK3 with Smoke, Sektor, and Cyrax, along with this sort of Steam-punk element with Kabal (which technically, Kano kinda takes up that theme in MK1). Then in UMK3, you add Rain for the water element, and Telepathy with Ermac. Then the element gods (Earth, Wind, Water, Fire Gods.) from MK:Sub Zero Mythologies. Wind was taken by Fujin...who was first playable in MK4. Nothing really new has come about since then. At least the way of elements. There's only been variations of the same stuff.

I would love to see the element characters be more impressive in general. Like more mature versions of some of the things we can see in Naruto, or Avatar: Last Airbender. In particular though, I'd like to see a non-ninja Earth Character. No painful stereotypes, although I do think a black dude would work well in this role.

In the past I've suggested that Kai could grow in this direction but idk. He could fit the bill the way I'm looking at it.

Yeah, e.g. if you played "Heroes of Might and Magic 3: Armageddon Blade", you know for the certain conflux faction, where virtually all the warriors are Elementals. In fact, even 10 of them: Air, Storm, Water, Ice, Fire, Energy, Earth, Magma, Psychic, and Magic Elemental.

Every time I see the word Elemental, I think of these guys:

Yeah, it's got something to do with WoW, but it has Elementals in it

Personally, I'd like to see something like this of a character... but then again, I don't.

Possibly the best creature to come out of the Doom series.

i'd like to see an elemental character similar to the character in the hulk movie. where if he touches say jaxes arms he becomes that particular metal. say he touches sub - zeros arms he becomes that element.

i feel that this elemental is interesting in the fact that you have to change various strategys to beat him. certain elements that he absorbed he'd gain more power which would make punches and kicks slower but if he absorbed say raidens lightning he'd be faster but not do as much damage.
