Hi Guys! I am new 2 Mortal Kombat Online. I think it would be very kool 2 see Mortal Kombat in a game with Killer Instinct or maybe (high hopes)Soul Calibur. I think it would be kool 2 see Sub Zero versus Nightmare or Sektor versus Voldo!

Let us determine which cast it is likely to be.
I doubt it will be primal rage, few people know/care about that game.
Street fighter is a possibility I suppose, I think that is what most fans want to see.
Soul Calibur is highly unlikely however I would like to see this.
tekken is more unlikely as the characters are so different, Tekkens cast (With a few exceptions) Are human martial arts experts with no magical ability. MK's cast includes Teleporting spear throwing undead Ninjas and such.
Super Smash Bros is nearly impossible unless MK8 was a wii exclusive (Which it isnt) however this would be an interessting turn of events. The closest we could get to this is if a MK character was in SSBB (it is not impossible. MK has been on nintendo consoles since its beginning. It has solid snake in it and hes not exactly a child friendly character)

i highly doubt that Mortal Kombat will face off with any other cast out there rather than itself. seriously, you believe that MK is going to face off against Mario Bros.? ppl please, if there hasn't been an MK vs. ?? game released yet, what makes you think it's going to happen now? and for this new generation?

There are very good reasons why this won't happen and I know it won't happen:

MK vs. Mario Brothers:

Perfect example here, when was the first Mario game that featured blood? You're not thinking that MK will tone down on the blood and gore for this game to make... i dunno, Scorpion vs. Wario? That doesn't even make me interested to see. Not to mention that Nitendo wouldn't allow their most famous game be heading against a very gory game. yeah i know their latest fighting game features snake, but please, he can't slit throats or freeze them at gun point to take their dog tags, which means that they totally destroyed him by not letting him froll around and kill things.

Mk. SF

Many people always want to see this happen, but it won't. SF seems to not get out of the 2d era and not to mention have new characters that has the same hyuken kick or crap like that. honestly, 3d and 2d don't match here people. sure they can enter 3d whenever they want, and i know that both mk and sf features blood, but sf doesn't feature it enough to where mk does. and not to mention that they don't do fatalities which clearly means that this will not be happening anytime soon.

MK vs. SNK

I don't know too much about SNK, so i'll let this one pass.

MK. vs Marvel

Not going to happen even if there were riots outside Midway headquarters who will violently destroy every workers' cars if they don't get what they demanded. First off, anyone who wants to see Sub-Zero vs. Iceman, Liu Kang vs. Spidey, Scorpion vs. Ghost Rider, and Kenshi against Cyclopes are strange. the majority of Marvels' characters have similar moves to the characters in MK and i hate going against characters like that because its the same old move just performed by someone else. Sub-Zero and Iceman will have too many similar moves and it won't be fun. I don't even care if you don't play against each other with these two guys, i'm just saying, you'll be doing the same moves over and over again whether or not you're playing as either iceman or sub-zero

MK vs. Capcom

There are too many strange characters that Capcom created to put into fighting games. I mean the little lego bot, a girl that rides in a robot, a cactus, a mummy. there's no way cute and funny can go with head rips and kiss of deaths. it'll be sad for the little kids to see.

therefore, MK should not face other casts and should be left alone.

I would love to see a MK vs. SF game as they are my two all time favourite video game series. I would also love to see SF4 (Man I really hope SF4 gets made).

In my opinon, the only MK character that could fit in SSB is Liu Kang. He's basically a plain punch-and-kick character, with fireballs and certain kicks (like Mario) Subby's freeze and Dairou's tombstone drop would not fit in SSB. Scorpion wouldn't, although his spear might be able to be used as a grab move.

Unreal Engine 3 ...... Midway ..... MK Characters showing up as skins in UT games ........ people calling MK8 "Gears of Kombat", because the art style boon is going for.

Mortal Kombat 8 will most likely feature characters from Unreal Tornement, and considering the engine being used, it wouldnt be very fucking hard to import assests between the two games.

Its Unreal Tornement / Unreal 3 / Gears of War characters , dont get excited guys .........

( And btw, for those who are automatically thinking Gears characters can only show up in a 360 game .... WRONG. Microsoft is publishing Gears, but it doesnt own the IP, and Epic has already said that they could theoretically create a Gears offshoot game set in the same universe, on other consoles )

I would rather see just new Xbox Live arcade fighting games, I'm not really into the MK games on Xbox, I like the old ones. I was wishing for KI on arcade or another MK like Trilogy or I and II

MK needs to get its own act together before it goes facing off against other fighters. I mean, the MK team has yet to turn out a quality fighting game since MK4, so a crossover would look like a desperate bid to save the franchise. Really, what Boon and crew need to do is go back to the drawing board, serioiusly think about the game they are making and put together something that actually contributes to the world of fighting games rather than pointlessly perpetuate its own existence. It would own everything else as long as the gameplay is there which honestly if midway and capcom agreed to do this, they would make sure it would get done right until released.

They should make it oldschool also, since a lot of people have beefs with the 3D MK's and SF's.

I doubt honestly though that it's SF but that would own, perhaps against KI possibly due to the darkness? If it's not either one of those I have no clue but find this very interesting and intriguing.

I still can't see the next MK game being a Vs game. They wouldn't take this amount of time, using the unreal engine and revamping/reloading the entire series to come out with a Vs game. I'm not saying that it would never happen, but I have a feeling that MK8 will be a new MK game and not Mortal Kombat Vs War Gods or Fighters History or whatever. It just wouldn't make sense.

I could see MK using a few characters from other Midway series as hidden bonus type characters, but that wouldn't make it a Vs game and with MK trying to reinvent itself again, I seriously doubt that even THAT would happen.

I'm not trying to discredit the poster, because his news was from a legit source (as I said on the first page of this thread, I read this from EGM as well), but as far as MK news goes, there are few less reliable sources for info than EGM. In other words, they always have very little info on the games, they never get the info first, and oftentimes they mock the series or throw in little glib comments within the info they actually provide. If IGN, GameInformer, or the mods on this site tell me something is going down with the MK series, then I'll absolutely take their word for it regardless of whether they have quotes from the MK team. EGM? Not so much.

Anyways, it was just a rumor. And while something like this might make a cool offshoot series some day (I'd LOVE to see Mortal Kombat Vs Killer Instinct personally) I just don't see the MK team putting their full weight behind something like this at the current time. Just my 2 cents.

Midway should just focus on MK8 right now.This Armageddon thing might just lead to something brand new and fresh.If they make a MK vs ?? they might lose some MK fans.Many people will be disappointed that's a fact.Look at MKA for an example.I think it's a great game,minor flaws.About a year ago many people were excited about MKA...now look at them.Some people are still complaining about it.

Some people just point out some bad stuff (flaws...things that can be improved) in the game,but other whiny people complain about one damn character's bio which is just childish.You should just appreciate and thank Midway for making another "MK trilogy 2".If they have an MK vs ?? it might be taken for granite and lots of fans will be disappointed.This could just be rumors to trick people into getting excited and spread these rumors.

Like Ed Boom said in his MKSM interview that he likes taking rumors and putting them into various MK games.I like some of these improvements,but I hope Midway doesn't think of making some game like this.

There is no game that can even keep up with the idea of graphics that MK has. Killer Instinct would be close,but Street Fighter and Tekken is just to Cartoony compared to MK.
