The franchise really hasn't done anything without him. He's been in every game since his debut (missed 1 game, was added on the updated version) and got his own adventure game ;)

I simply hope that whatever characters get revealed have all the justifiable fanfare that the others have had. It seems like they're trending away from giving a certain couple of characters all the love and I'd like to see them continue that.
