Ed Boon wants to make an MK VS SF VS TK VS VF.

I didn’t know what to expect of “Mortal Kombat vs. DC Universe” before seeing it at Comic-Con 2008. Then I saw it and.. loved it. I’ll have more on my impressions soon, but in addition to playing the game, I was sat down with “Mortal Kombat” co-creator Ed Boon. Boon doesn’t just love “Mortal Kombat;” he’s a huge fighting fan in general. It’s part of the reason he wanted to cross the “Mortal Kombat” universe with another world of characters. If this cross-over is a success, I asked Boon if it might open some doors to a collaborating with another series. “In a perfect world, to me, I still think it would be cool as hell to see Ryu from “Street Fighter” and Scorpion from Mortal Kombat,” said Boon. “I just think it would be cool. To me, “Mortal Kombat vs. Street Fighter vs. Tekken vs. Virtua Fighter” would be the coolest in the world.” “The reality is you’re going to have [the other development teams] on the other side of the world,” he continued. “So, who makes it? Who does what? It would be awesome. And who knows what they’re gonna say if this is big. Or someone’s mind is going to open — “Tekken vs. Marvel”? Maybe “Tekken vs. Virtua Fighter.” They’ll just say, screw you, “Mortal Kombat”! [laughs]” We’ll have more on our interview with Boon later this week. In the meantime, what dream fighting collaborations would you like to see?

He's said before that he'd like to see two running series. Mortal Kombat, and Mortal Kombat Versus. I don't see why that's a problem.

He's just throwing out ideas. I doubt that will happen (any time soon) especially as to what he said about who will be developing it, legal issues, approvals, etc...

A game built on the premise of testing the greatest beat 'em up icons against each other would be fantastic!

If it came back to a new tournament and a new generation of fighters, I'd be pretty happy with the MK team putting some effort in to represent the major rivals in their characters. Something with a bit more effort than Kobra (Ken). Facsimiles are the bread and butter of comics. C'mon!

Annual international competitions to rank fighters from all games.
Beat 'em up OLYMPICS with teams designed by each company.

FUN!!!

I hope we see Mortal Kombat vs Guilty Gear sometime in the future, but that is most likely asking for too much.

be a good idea if they made each game a different franchise opponent. as long as the canon games keep coming, it'd be a good thing.

I'm still doubting it, and I've never doubted about the MK vs DC game, I had a feeling that a crossover might happen sooner or later... mmm...yeah.

That's what I've been screaming since this games announcement. Since the rumor even.

DC vs Marvel = Win

They're doing it in the movie theaters anyway. Though I would like to see what it would be like to have Mortal Kombats' traditional look and feel, with the programming and everything done by the Capcom guys. *bam* There you go.

They're all Asian or Comic book influenced...So, I figure Anime would be a happy medium. You make that look realistic? Like, a little heavy on the Mortal Kombat influence, and you got something everybody wants to play.

Have the Capcom guys do the core fighting stuff(on and offline), have the Midway guys do the adventure//fighting game, and story things. Have the anime, and the comic book guys work on the look and feel of mixing the 4 franchises together properly. Everybody throw in extra content.
