What do *I* want for Xmas? A new rating from the ESRB between M and AO! ;)
Hm, seems rather happy with the MK being made. Seems like it's been approved by WB. So instead of calling everyone dumbasses you can do us a favor and shut the fuck up Rayguz :).

It really doesn't have to be AO to be good. I don't know why they wanna push it that far. There's more to MK than just gore.

I'm sure there is more to the game than gore, I'm sure they're aware too. Hec's just saying the game is hella edgy. I can't wait to see how it turns out.
I agree with the Queen. There is much more to MK than just buckets of gore, and it does kind of sadden me that the team feels the only way to produce an MK game is to "push the envelope". There's story, background, and character development that, IMO, is deeper than any other fighting game. If the game does go for "pushing the envelope" in other areas as well instead of (or as a replacement for) making a solid game I probably will say goodbye.

I beleive they made a great fighting game using Unreal and we'll probably see it carry over into this sequel. This is the only real news we've heard thus far so don't count the game out yet.

MKvDC had fantastic gameplay. And it can be improved upon by making the game strictly 2D. MKvDC seemed like a 3D game that wanted to be 2D to me.

I'm glad I wasn't the only one who noticed that it seemed to play like a 2D game.

I feel like MK9 is going down the tubes. All these mysterious tweets can only lead to one thing: The WB fucking things.

Well then I suppose all the mysterious messages before on other sites were a sign of fuck ups too? Pretty sure we had all kinds of cryptic messages last game.

Not in terms of Midway dooming the game I dont think we did. I could be wrong. I just dont get a good vibe about Boon's presentation to the WB. I feel like they looked at him and said, "you're kidding right? NO way."

1. If they make it 2D based, they need to make the jumps less stiff.... they need to jump higher and flip like in the old games
2. Why don't they just tone it down for MA .. .then sell an AO pack on PSN /XBL ???

The only thing I could see the WB having issues with is pressing the envelope with the rating system but I think it has been stated that the game would go back to its roots with a mature rating. I could be wrong though because I have not read the past articles in awhile but anything is possible with Ed and the MK Team. I for one could see a new rating being made just for MK9...it has been done in the past and it could be done again. Hell, with the backing of the WB they could release two versions one M and one AO. All in all I think the WB was probably happy with the presentation and they probably just pointed out things that need work and stuff. Its just a presentation remember...so its probably just a recorded video, sketches, artwork, story layouts or whatever...even if its a playable game demo you have to realize that its just at the threshold of being made so it probably needs to be polished and tested. Adjustments, additions, tweaks and all other kinds of changes will be in motion. If any negative emotion from Hec or anyone on the team for that matter says anything that seems like a downer...it is probably just because they have a lot of work to do and are getting drained from the work put in already. I think that being with a new big time company they are going to try real hard to impress them and I have faith they can do just that.
I'll wait and see before declaring WB's "involvement" ruining the franchise.
After all, I just read an article from Rocksteady games where they said WB has learned that letting game developers do their thing is the best course of action, which is why Batman: Arkham Asylum was so well-received.
And, hopefully, it being "edgy" means it can also be "good". We don't need another Thrill Kill.
