@sjwmegatron you have no idea what you're talking about.

You mean the specific things in the games I'm referencing? Or is it that I'm not directly quoting contradictory bio information from games over a decade old? Because I can do that too, here I go:

And yet Raiden says Kung Jin is also a decendant of the original Kung Lao. How can that be? According to this information, Kung Jin must be a shapeshifting nazi ghost.

You need to understand the difference between subtle references - like the Johnny Cage sunglasses quote - and full-on canon events.

If the "general events" of the MK movie appear to you canon in the slightest, it's because they follow the events outlined by John Tobias in the MK1 comic - a boat ride to to Shang Tsung's island where a tournament happened. That's as far as it goes. Most everything else short of Liu beating Shang in a fight cannot occur - Shang controlling Scorpion and Sub-Zero, Sonya killing Kano, Liu killing Shang - all of these events directly contradict and interfere with the games' old timeline, which are the building blocks towards Armageddon in the first place.

Without Armageddon, there can be no MK9. Without MK9, there can be no MKX. The old games aren't the canon timeline now, but they're canon in the sense that they had to occur so we could get to MK9 and MKX, which overwrite them. And don't forget the mystery woman from Jade's MK9 ending and Kitana's MKX ending, which directly reference the prior timeline as still being important.

You'll note that also Liu Kang and Goro reference their prior fight in MK9 in their MKX dialogue. So, what, did Liu and Johnny both magically fight him? Nope.

The MK movie isn't canon. No film, TV show or Malibu comic is. The sunglasses comment is just a cute reference for those who love the movie.

As far as Kung Lao being the last descendent goes, well, that's what we call a 'minor retcon'. The series is chock full of them. Doesn't reflect on the old games' importance to the plot at all.

Exactly.

I'm talking about events shown in MK9 contradicting a bio from Deadly Alliance. So stay salty.

My question is, why is Quan Chi so polite? (I mean with words, not with fists.)

In most of his intros, he doesn't directly insult anyone.

This.

Think about it, he's the only MK character evil enough to be a Tigers fan.

Hell, where every Demon and Oni comes from. Read his bio in MKX. The guy comes from hell. I thought we all knew this?

Why bother? It will just be retconned a game from now. Vogel and NRS aren't exactly the poster people for consistency. Hell, I don't even think they care to keep their shit straight anymore.

Are Kun Lao, and or Kung Jin`s parents still alive?

Kung Jin must have been born after the statement about Kung Lao being the last decendant. That was around MK3, so 25 years later... yeah...

"Last descendant" means "only one left alive" And even so, Kung Jin is not Kung Lao's brother. He's his cousin.
Who the fuck said they were brothers?
