Reiko, only because he never got a chance to really be his own character until, surprisingly enough, that fucking awful game Armageddon. He was actually pretty bad ass in that brief encounter with him during story mode.

The comic made him out to be even better...deceitful, dangerous....but the comic has nothing to do with the game so who knows if "The Reiko Accords" are even something they'll ever get into.

I miss Kai and Reiko.

Jarek could always be given an overhaul and made cool but I don't think NRS cares too much about doing that, which I don't blame them. I'd rather see Kai and Reiko get the time and energy.

Kai not even being mentioned in the comics at least is odd. I mean Reiko was a big part of the comics, Jarek had a brief cameo, Shinnok & Quan Chi are the main villains of the game, Fujin appears in both story mode and the comic, and Tanya will be DLC. So Kai's the only one who's a truly complete no show so far.

Kind of an odd selection of characters.

Kai can definitely be redeemed. It's a pity that the developers have chosen to dump all over him. He should probably be repackaged in that he's no longer associated with Liu Kang, which has kept him from having an identity of his own.

Reiko owes his recent renaissance to the comic, which is nice to see. I like how it's not tied into the game, which allows the possibility of more depth to the characters if Kittelsen and crew can get off Sub and Scorp's jock for five seconds.

Jarek...well, I don't really miss him but I'll always have a bit of a soft spot for him because I mained him in MK4. However, he's just a blank canvas in terms of story and personality, so integrating him into future games would be like climbing Kilimanjaro.
That being said, they deserved to be in the game far more than all the unoriginal Xerox-copy offspring.

Considering Kai almost made the game's story mode in early stages, I believe he has a high chance of being considered for MK11. Same goes to the cameos we got this time.

The other two? Who knows but Jarek can stay away unless revamped.

They've only been in two games and the games they did show up in, did them no justice. I feel like nobody really has a clue as to who or why Jarek,Reiko, and Kai even exist in the game due to their almost nonexistent roles. So no, they can join mokap lol

Fuck no they're all wack

Tanya and Fujin are really the only MK4-introduced characters I found compelling. A reimagining of Kai could work. Reiko is kinda sexy but otherwise I've never gotten the hype. Jarek is a no.

I've been saying it for a long time if they added Havik, Rieko, Sareena & Rain/Bo Rai Cho this game would have been received even better.

For the most part, no. I thought the Mortal Kombat 4 newcomers were mostly horrible anyway.

I think Jarek's chances of appearing in the video games are minimal. His best bet is the comic I think.

Kai was interesting in the way in the way his fireballs worked and the handstand and that is it.

Reiko to me was infuritating. When I played the game back when it came out I thought of Reiko as pointless and wholly unnecessary, Why not just make Noob Saibot on the proper roster and give him a proper story and ending? Whatever.

Kai is the only one that I could give a slight care for.

I'm about the only one, but I always thought Jarek had promise. Not necessarily based on what he had in MK4, but rather the concept of him. I always considered Jarek to be the more unhinged of the Black Dragon. Kano is a bastard, but he's more of a self-serving, runaway type. Jarek, in my mind, was the douchebag, bastard, sociopath who really enjoyed killing. The type of guy who Kano secretly was afraid of.

But, he's gone now, oh well.

Reiko, on the other hand, I always considered him to be the right ruler. He was the plotting #2, the Grand Moff Tarkin, the man with the clip board. I thought of Reiko as the level headed second to Kahn, always scheming to get into power. That he'd most likely be a better, less ruthless Emperor.

As for Kai, well, I always thought Kai was a stupid character.

Kai I like. He sucked in Armaggedon, but I always thought he was really cool in MK4. Reiko and Jarek both got better in MKA than they were in MK4, but I would still choose Kai over them anyday of the week.

I agree with the disagreement. MK4 knew what it was. Wasn't great, but it was trying something new. In comparison to Armageddon, MK4 is a sainted game. How the hell do you go from Deception, which was buggy and had some issues, but was a strong successor to DA, to Armageddon which fucks up fatalities? How do you fuck up fatalities in Mortal Kombat?!

MK4 is bad in retrospect if you try to hold it to some sort of standard, but if you try to look at it for what it was when it came out, it was pretty cool.

Agreed dude, it also introduced alternate costumes, a training mode, special move lists, etc. I feel like it could have been done a lot better, but for what it was, it was pretty good. Although I am kind of biased about MK4 since it was the first MK I ever played

That Kano-Jarek conflict may be awesome ! But unfortunately I don't think we'll ever see such an unexpected and interesting story from NRS.

Jarek: I've always had some form of a soft spot for Jarek in the sense that I always thought he had potential in becoming a decent character. By getting rid of his eye lasers and giving him a more unique move set he could have become more than just a Kano clone, but at the expense of other better characters I wouldn't loose sleep if Jarek never returned. I'd still love a cameo every now and then.


Reiko: I knew people would suddenly be Reiko fans since he had a prominent role in the comics, but at the moment I'm 50/50 with Reiko. He's an awesome character, but I just don't know what he could bring to the table in terms of gameplay and story. Unless they changed his story drastically, all he'll be is an adviser/sidekick to someone while secretly wanting to take over as leader. All in all, I would like Reiko back but unless he has some development that makes him a little but more developed then he can stay out for a bit longer. Otherwise, yeah, I'd like him back.

Kai: Kai fucking needs to come back IMO. Next to Fujin and Tanya, he's probably one of the few characters from MK4 that could survive in a new game if he got a little bit of development. Hearing that he was originally in MKX's story mode makes a little sad that they couldn't fit him in somewhere, but at the same time it proves that NRS haven't forgot about him which does give me hope he'll back sometime soon. My own little theory is that because



Kai is one of the few characters who really deserves another chance. Ignoring Armageddon ('cause that ruined a lot of characters IMO), Kai was fairly solid in MK4 and was seemingly on the right track to becoming a recurring character. It's just a shame that NRS have to be reminded that apart from its faults, MK4 had a great selection of characters we want to see back. I just hope they listen when it comes to MK11.

Kai and Reiko are cool. I don't care about Jarek.

Do I miss them? No, not really.

Can they be redeemed? Sure. Everyone who's not a joke character can.

But I like these new characters way more than Kai, Jarek, and Reiko. Kotal Kahn, Ferra/Torr, D'Vorah, and Erron Black are infinitely more interesting to me than those 3.
