Jax calls Kano "a second-rate Jarek" (ouch!), and Jarek was seen and very much alive during the earlier events of the comics (when Cassie and Jacqui were teens.))

As for Reiko's absence, and the only reference to him in-game being "the Reiko accords", I'm going to assume he's dead.

I'm not opposed to any of those characters returning, though. However, I can't say I expected Jarek to return (at all,) and Kai had very low chances, too.

Reiko and Tanya were the only two MK4 debutants I expected might return.

I would have liked to see Reiko in the game. Kai probably deserves another chance, but I'm not too fussed. Jerek on the other hand deserves the same fate as Hsu Hao.

I don't think even Kano himself cares about Jarek :D He's alive in the comics.

I want to see more reiko and would not mind seeing Kai but MKX was their best chance. I dont think we ll see them again.

Rieko yes. Kai, not too much, I liked him in MK4 but not MKA. And no to Jarek, he is one of the characters I just don't care about lol.

Reiko ́s absence is... regretable

I thought Jarek's makeover with the Lasso in Armageddon was pretty cool. I wouldn't mind having another Black Dragon to play with so yeah, I do want him back.

Reiko I absolutely love. I love him since MK4. I absolutely loved his redesign in Armageddon and I love seeing him in the comics. It's a damn shame he isn't in the game.

As for Kai, he was another fireball user but he brought something new to the game such as overhead fireballs and the handstand. I definitely wouldn't mind seen him.

But, honestly, after MK9, I'd love to see everyone get a chance to shine again.

Kapoeira Variation for the win! I think Kai should've been in over KungJin. Maybe he is on a special mission with Fujin? Raiden has his staff during the "mk4" fight, but then it's absent the rest of the story. Remember, Kai inherited the staff at the end of mk4. If this scenario isn't DLC, I hope it's at least addressed in the comix.

Reiko, hell yes. I actually get mad every time I see SubZero's ice hammer. Those 2 moves should've been Reiko's.

I'm going to make a bold statement: Mortal Kombat 4 was fucking dog shit in every conceivable way and in my opinion is the worst game in this franchise so the farther we get away from it the better so no leave them in the past.

I miss them, as their demise has lead to the children/descendant/apprentice 'clones'. I can't believe there is no Reiko, with Jarek it would have been cool to them try to fix like they did with Stryker. Kai could have been the monk in this game in lieu of Kun Jin.
