Cyrax and Sektor
Cyrax and Sektor
Should either one return? If not both, then who would you prefer?
I think both should return, and both characters' MK9 endings should be canon, with Cyrax regaining his humanity and becoming a monk (though the latter is optional), and Sektor taking over the Lin Kuei.
But if we only got one, then should the returning one get the other's moves for one of his variants? I wouldn't be surprised if Kitana's mourning variant wasn't there strictly for story purposes, and that certain other characters will get variants based on the movesets of missing characters.

I hope to see one of the cyborgs return, as to who I want im unsure. In terms of gameplay I usually lean towards Sektor because I find him more fun (Telepunch!) but in terms of story I usually find Cyrax a little more interesting.
If only one returns and not the other, I would not mind one of them borrowing some moves from the other, these guys are cyborgs, there is no reason why they couldn't add more tech and gadgets to themselves.

Love Sektor and Cyrax, and would want them both to return.
Sektor is actually my favorite MK character, so would prefer him obviously.
If Cyrax returns I think his main costume should be similar to his deception alt, where he's like a partial robot but with his face showing.
As for them sharing the missing ones moves.. I'd prefer them not do that, at least not to a large extent. For example, giving Sektor buzzsaw blades and bombs on top of everything he already has kind of makes Cyrax pointless in a sequel, doesn't it? If Sektor has all those powers, why not just include him again?
It's different with Jade and Kitana since she could just give the staff back, but Sektor canonically having all of Cyrax's powers would make it hard to include both of them in a future game.

They better bring Sektor back, I never wanted to see him more than I want to see him In MKX.
This game is giving so much respect to the characters with the awesome designs and moves, I will be really upset if Sektor is not in.
But it's not really a game breaker for me, as a fan of Sektor I would like to see him, so yes my opinion is Biased.
Cyrax would also be great especially considering the new Intro system they have, I'd love to see Cyrax Interact with Sektor.
Just Imagine Sektor and Cyrax interacting.
Cyrax: "Sektor!"
Sektor: "I will burn you"
Cyrax: "Burn me? I AM FIRE!"

Well im pretty sure MKX will have at least one cyborg in the game and if I had a choice between the 2 it would be Sektor, but if I had a choice of all thr cyborgs I would want Smoke to be one again.

For story-mode purposes yes, playable...neither. Give us a new cyborg totally different in design then those two and Cyber Sub-Zero.

Sektor is my favourite character so YES! Cyrax is also one of my favs and I would like to see both of them in. I loved in MKA when Sektor created his own clan the Tekunin. If he takes over the Lin Kuei like from his arcade ending, I would be overjoyed to see him as a grandmaster.

I'm hoping at least one is playable, but I wouldn't be upset if they were both in. I like their dynamic.
If it can only be one I'd pick Cyrax because I like the Robocop aspect of him clinging onto his humanity despite being a cyborg.

I want to see both return.
But if I can only have 1 I would prefer to see cyrax.
And yes I am in favor of one variant being a shout out to sektor moves. And if you press start instead of "the A-button" you get sektor skin as an Easter egg. (BTW I hope the same happens for kitana, meaning if you press start she wears green clothing instead of blue.)

I'd say Sektor taking over the Lin Kuei seems highly unlikely, as all the Lin Kuei tidbits and imagery we've seen thus far from MKX shows a snowy ninja theme...
It's much more reminiscent of Sub-Zero's MKDA/MKD Lin Kuei then it is Sektor's "Tekunin"-esque Lin Kuei.
That combined with Sub's "Grandmaster" variation lead me to believe that Sub-Zero takes the reins in MKX, and reshapes the clan in his image, similar to MKDA and MKD. WHICH Sub takes over this time however... is still up in the air. (Possibly Bi-Han. Possibly both. Who knows?)
I think they're trying to re-establish the rivalry between Scorpion and Sub-Zero in this game, and also between their clans. They're very much molding them into that classic "Yellow vs Blue" theme they used to have... but which got lost in some of the later games, as the original characters developed out of those roles.
Where does that leave the cyber ninjas? I honestly don't know... they're one of the biggest yet to be dealt with story chunks hanging out there un-addressed atm.
They could be yet-to-be revealed sub-plot unto themselves.
They could get relegated to secondary roles in other plots, kinda like they did in the original Timeline (Cyrax started hanging out with Special Forces, then Nitara. Smoke began hanging with Noob.)
They could be left out and lost in the background for a while, to be re-addressed later in a future game.
I feel like they're not so important and deeply connected to the plot that they NEED to be in MKX... but I also feel they're popular enough that they won't be permanently forgotten forever. I'm about 50/50 on them at this point. Could go either way. But even if they're not in, I'm sure we'll see them again someday.

After seeing kitana take up jades moveset I'm guessing even more that one cyber ninja will have ketchup and mustard variations. Maybe a new one to take up the 3rd spot. Name the character whatever sektors army was called started with an A.

The cyborg ninjas are pretty iconic, I would be surprised if both were excluded in this game.
I really want to see next gen cyborgs, I think they could look badass in MKX's dark themed art style.

I know this probably wouldn't work because of x rays and fatalities being the same across all 3 variations, but I think it would be cool to have the cyborgs back as 1 character slot, and each variation being a different cyborg.
cyrax,
sektor,
cyborg smoke

It also wouldn't work for their arcade ending unless they actually tailored the ending to be different depending on which variation you beat the game with.
OR they mushed all three character's endings together Noob-Smoke style... which wouldn't be very satisfying, as it wouldn't really give each character their own spotlight.
I personally love to see more characters show their face in each game... but I disliked Noob-Smoke, because it gave us two half characters instead of two full characters, in a lot of ways.
This would be largely the same... except three characters would be sharing the focus, so... slightly worse.
