When I first saw the variations that was my very first thought as well. I called it inevitable. I think something similar will happen with the cyber ninjas.

It's actually not such a bad idea - certainly one I could come to terms with if it meant the inclusion of more favorites.

Female ninja: Mileena, Kitana, Jade

Cyber Ninja: Cyrax, Sektor, Cyber Sub Zero/Smoke

3-4 special moves and 1 fatality each, sharing regular attacks. Could work.

Better than leaving those characters on the scrap heap floor for MK2015 surely? Poor Ed's twitter would be filled with hate though.

That was harder than I thought. I wanted to get a good balance between MK9 and post-MK3 characters that deserve to be in the game/have an update. It came out a lot like MK Gold.

Exactly. It's an easy (and obvious) solution to have all 3 Lady Ninjas in the game. They'd share basic combos and "karate-based" specials. But each variation would add their individual weapons and specials. 3 bad bitches - 1 purchase - $4.99

The same could be done with the 3 cyborgs, but I have this gut feeling they'll be part of that 25 yrs later arc, and have been merged into 1 cyborg. Alot of guys on this forum are speculating that as well.

It IS a bad idea. It would be a major fuck you to all their fans. It's not like they share anything other than being "MK ninjas". It's not freaggin Tiger from Tekken we are talking about. Mileena is my fav character and I would rather not have her at all in the game, than include her as an extra without even her own spot on the select screen. No offense but that is the most stupid idea I've ever read here (besides hanky's nonsense).

Absolutely agreed, I'd rather my favorite not make it if their not going to even get a spot on the select screen and just be a lame variation. No, that's terrible.

All-in all, there should be an even amount of females as males.
Lets say we get 30 characters on the select screen. 15 females and 15 males. Boss male and Sub-Boss female (or vise versa). If we get four DLC, split that to 2 females and two males. Two guest characters, 1 female and 1 male. So, 36 playable and two not playable.

Just a thought because from MK1-MK9, male characters ruled (having more male than female characters).

As of now MKX only has 2 legit playable females characters as in D'Vorah and Cassie. 4 males as in Scorpion, Sub-Zero, Kotal Kahn and Torr.
Did not include Ferra because she is Torrs "weapon".

I think that's the case with most fighting games. I don't have a preference of whether a character should be male or female, so the ratio doesn't really bother me.

First of all, Ferra isn't Torrs weapon, Torr is Ferra's weapon as Ferra is the brain.

Second I agree with the guy who said that Sektor should be higher up than Frost. WTF a frost girl (Sub-Zero clone # 10.000) higher than a character that really has potentional to become a really big threat of his own?

His goal is kinda cool, turning everything he sees into killer machines and rule the mechanical world all by himself.

I actually feel like 16 is too many. I'd like to see more original characters and less returning ones. Anyways, here are my choices.

Other thoughts are that while I would be interested in Liu Kang and Kung Lao appearing... part of me wants a new Earthrealm martial artist. Maybe have them inherit the Kung Lao hat for one variation and have a Liu Kang-esque style for another variation. Similar to how Cassie Cage is a mashup of Johnny and Sonya.

I'd rather have Kai be the successor to Liu and Kung-Lao instead of a newbie. With Kai you already have the connection to Liu Kang and so much could be done with him. He's also somewhat different from the other two which makes him pretty distinct(Being African-American and having a pretty cool tiger stripe design) without seeming like a copy. I think if they created a new monk to replace Liu/Kung-Lao, he'll be pretty bland and unoriginal.

I don't see why people see Kai as a replacement for them, he is just so different. Neither do I see why people don't seem to like him, he was awsome back in MK4, although not so much in MKA

That's the point. Why do replacements have to be EXACTLY the same? Having an exact copy of Liu Kang running around is BORING and does nothing but make me wish Liu was actually in the game. That's the negative effect of having uninspired replacements. Kai is a monk, he's close friends with Liu Kang, and he's on the side of good...so...why ignore that? What's so weird and foreign about it?

And as far as him not being cared about in Armageddon...um everybody in that game was crap. That said even if Kai isn't the most requested, he's certainly not this big abomination everybody hates.
