I think I'm like the only person with a soft spot for Hsu Hao and Mavado lol. I think they could benefit from a great re-design. They both at least had more personality than those jokers I listed.

Sheeva. That's about it, actually. It's time to take some of the boss characters, restructure their movesets, and make them part of the roster. Goro would be my pick, and since I'm partial to him over Sheeva, she's the character I'd snip.

This is not me saying a second Shokan is redundant. I get that some people may like her for her story. I'm speaking purely for myself when I select Goro over Sheeva.

If they did bring her back, her gameplay would need a redesign. As she stands now, she's either going to be useless or broken. I don't think there's a middle ground with her current moveset.

Kira, Kobra, Dairou, Darrius, Hotaru, Shujinko, Taven, Daegon, Mokap...

Are probably my least liked....I'd like to say I'd give them all another chance....just not in this game please lol.

- Chameleon and Khameleon (would accept Khameleon if she had a change on how her powers work and is no longer a copy of multiple characters).

- Jarek (with Kano still alive, he isn't needed more than any Black Dragon goon and his moveset isn't original, even as a character he has little resources to work a new playstyle).

- Meat.

- Mokap.

- Dairou.

- Darrius.

- Kira.

- Kobra (really, MKD introduced so many unlikable bland characters with no things to work an unique and personal playstyle and charisma...).

- Taven and Daegon (I want to avoid de Armageddon story course... eliminating Daegon could mean no more Red Dragon, but I'd rather sacrifice the characters from that clan than see the armageddon brothers again).


Characters that from a story and/or unique traits standpoint still have something to offer but I don't like (which means I wouldn't be mad about them in the game but would care very little for them unless seriously revamped like Striker):

- Frost.

- Ashrah.

- Nitara.

I'm not going to lie, I did like Kobra a bit. Mainly because by looking at him you assume he's one of the good guys and just another Johnny Cage type, but he's really a blood thirsty sociopath. I kind of dug that about him, but at the end of the day he really had nothing else going for him so *shrug* it's whatever.

I'm the only person on earth I guess who liked both Mavado and Hsu Hao, I'd love to see them back sometime in the future but seeing how not only the fanbase but Ed Boon himself feels about them, especially Hsu, I don't see them coming back ever again...unless of course there's another Trilogy/Armageddon type game years from now.

Dairou and Darrius were interesting...well kinda, but I felt like we already had Hotaru & Havik to perfectly represent Orderrealm/Chaosrealm, we didn't need to add these two to that whole storyline. Darrius should have remained the leader of the Red Dragon like they were planning. I'm in love with Darrius's appearance in that game(minus the horrid alternate he had) but other than that he failed to stand out for me.

Those are the ones I wish to never see again, ever. Then you have the boring characters like Li Mei, Moloch, Dairou, that I find boring but i'm ok with, and the ones like Mavado ro Drahmin that are interesting but need a lot of work for them to work.

PD: What's with all the Sheeva hate? :( She is a much more interesting character than Goro or Kintaro, at least for me.

Exactly. I think Sheeva could become an excellent character if given a chance to develop. She was only included in Armageddon because that was a game that required everyone in the series and she seemed to only be included in MK9 because that was a game that had everyone else from the first 3 games. I'd fall out of my seat if she's announced to be in MKX lol

I can't believe there are so many people who dislike Sheeva.

I truly hope she returns in MKX. She deserves a chance to be something other than a grunt.


To be honest, the only characters I truly feel should not return are Shujinko, Taven, and Daegon, as I find them detrimental to the series' story. Plus, they all suck in gameplay.

I'm already 100% sure Sheeva isn't returning. If she does I'll be surprised as hell. It's sad when the likelihood of Batman or Superman appearing is higher than the likes of Sheeva.

I'm not a Taven fan, but i believe he is ok. Sadly i don't want him to return but mostly because I don't want to see the armaggedon storyline again. I feel the same way towards Blaze, even though I like that character much more.

I know, I used Sheeva a lot in MK9 even when she was probably the worst character in the game. She was the second char I "mastered" :p

It was so sad to see so little of her in the storymode, even a few little line of dialog could have worked to see more of her motives and personality. She really does have a sense of honor that the other Shokans fail to transmit.
