MK really needs a new direction in terms of music. Pretty bland stuff for a while now.

It wouldn't surprise me if this is the official, because the music is taking a similar direction (albeit more improved in my view) as MK2011.

Sounds like it would fit as a main menu tune, and that second half with the melody sounds like it would fit in injustice lol. Tbh orchestral music in MK just doesnt do it for me. Dan Forden and the sound dudes at Netherrealm should take notes from the composer of the new KI. Now that soundtrack is badass.

Bring back UMK3 select screen them, maybe all mixed. Thats all.

Once again, not surprised that the character select screen music absolutely sucks ass. The music seems to get worse and worse post-MK3, which IMO had the best select screen music of any fighting game. Mortal Kombat should stick to one select screen music like Killer Instinct and MvC have. The MK3 theme remixed over and over would be perfect.

Why so much negativity? While I do agree that the old MK games had awesome select screen themes, they sound very old now. I don't want them to stick to the 90s style despite the nostalgia that it brings.

I love the music so far. I know this will sound weird but it feels very "now". Exactly what a 2015 fighting game that is so dark should sound like. It's all a matter of taste I guess but I love it.

Awesome music, I hope it's in MKX. It reminds me of Two Steps From Hell's epic stuff.

It's cool, I like it it. But I don't think its select screen worthy. As mentioned above, the stuff in the reveal videos should be part of the select screen music. That shit is killer.

My question is this though: how was this obtained? How do we know for sure its MKX?

Definitely hope the final select theme is more driving. This is fine for main menu stuff.

Definitely better than mk9, but I've been listening to the killer instinct soundtrack and MKX has some splainin' to do.

This track sounds more fitting for Main Menu music not Character Select.
The track when revealing variations sounds like Character Select music.
This needs to be switched.

Around 1:40 sounds good but only if it started there. It takes way too long to kick in otherwise. And for a menu we spend so little time on it has to kick in quicker.
Deception is my all time favourite MK select screen music, straight to the point with those industrial beats.
To be honest the only ones I haven't liked in the series are MKA, MKvsDC and MK9 just because they were rather dull.
It's good for a main menu tune though, I hope that's what it is.
