The funny thing is, I can't find Rain anywhere on these lists. Odd. Does that mean he's actually dead last?

Also, with DLC characters being ranked so low, not everyone has access to the internet, bought the DLC, or bought the Komplete edition, so those numbers may be a bit deceptive in terms of actual character popularity.

I do find it a bit funny that they are all characters you DONT play as in story mode.

Not saying that story mode is taken into account with those stats but Story Mode did offer you a teaser of playing that character for a while.

TBH I dont think they should drop anyone really. But thats the virtua fighter fan in me.

I don't think so. The PC version has all DLC characters out of the box. Also Steam requires internet connection most of the time. Still, the PC least favorite characters are the same ones we see for X360 and PS3.

I don't trust the numbers.

Well, I've completed Arcade Ladder like... hundreds of times. And I'm not in TOP 100. On the other hand, the chart includes some people with only 27 completions of this mode. wtf

That's why I didn't do a "discounting DLC" thingy for the PC version; it's the Komplete Edition and they're automatically included.

Generally, though, there still is a margin of error (I think) when dealing with the console versions. A lot of people don't/won't buy DLC characters, and I'm certain a lot of people don't have their consoles hooked up to the internet.
I know I didn't have my PS3 on wifi until 2010, about a year and a half after I bought it; ergo, I never had any DLC for the games I owned.
Regardless, I'm sure some of these numbers are a bit off.
And Rain is completely absent from all charts.
Also, with some people not having their consoles synced with the internet, those numbers cannot be represented here. Ergo, there must be quite a number of "plays" missing.

It's funny seeing Sindel in a lot of your lists, she is my most played. O.o

The "official" lists includes all modes. This is for example why Raiden is top3 in most of them, as I'm sure a lot of players spent a loooooooot of time trying to finish story mode.

Characters not in story mode also received big blows on their rankings, though some like Sheeva I know that simply aren't popular among fans.

Personally I had like a top10 characters I used to play and after that I'm not sure of the orders. The only 2 I know are in the bottom are Freddy (only DLC I didn't buy) and Kratos (except if you count being a punching bag in practice mode). Probably Cyber Sub-Zero as I hated that idea (and my most played character was Sub-Zero by far) too.

Someone said Sindels style wasn't good? She was at her best in MK9 in every way. I liked her in MKD and MK3 as well.
Sindel can comeback in MKX! She can be revived as she did in MK9.

No he did not. He was seen in Netherrealm as a zombie under Quan Chi's command.

the ones i least play as are (in no particular order)

Sheeva - some combos are tricky and input are too similar to each other
Kung Lao - very difficult combos to pull off (tap rapidly)
Shang Tsung - the specials hav a confusing layout
Rain - can't get the hang of his long chain combos

Also should we count DLC Characters? Because Rain is one of the most requested but not even in the top 30. Kenshi is also very low.

who's placement are you surprised by the most? I don't remember playing very many Smoke players for him to be that high.

All horrible characters are high on that list and all awesome characters are low in this list or not even in it (Rain)

I hate that freaking list and I hope it isn't responsible for the MKX roster.

DLC shouldn't count. Not everyone bought them AND they weren't available since Launch, which affects the amount of times they can be played.

Sektor in the bottom 10 surprised me. I'm not a fan of him, but a lot of u guys on this site are. Jade is my #2, so I'm surprised she is that low as well. She was a beast

DLC shouldn't count, I agree, but Kenshi should count though. He still has an actual story from MKDA and in Deception. They really need to make him apart of the story, instead of just having a non-canon ending.

So because they aren't in the storymode
they aren't made as good as they should be (Quan Chi)

THey should be in the game if the story makes sense, make all the fucking fan favorites (such as Boring Cage and Blade) DLC or something.

Johnny Cage is another one I want gone. And of course all characters that aren't from MK. Cyber-Zero doesn't excist for me, its just sub-zero.

To be honest, I don't recall ever playing with any of them, minus the random pick in Test Your Luck.

My last post did not include DLC. So, my least played were Kenshi, Skarlet and Freddy.
As much as I liked Rain in MK9 as DLC, I don't think MKX needs him.
