Smoke IS a cyborg, there's no going back to Human.
That said...now that his body is made of a cloud of nano-bots, he could actually gain the ability to control his appearance and look like a human if he really wanted to. I personally prefer the purple armor, though.

I don't really distinguish human from the cybernetic form. It's all Smoke to me. The important thing is that he's no longer Noob Saibot's boy toy.



I wouldn't say there's no turning back to Human Smoke, but at this point in the series, it would be difficult to do. I wouldn't rule it out, though. All it would take is a plot device that would regenerate Smoke's flesh, though it would have to be REALLY, REALLY well written plot device, or otherwise it would just feel like another zombie Liu Kang (which is contrived as it gets).

As for the nano-machine version, I think I could live with it if they completely re-work his design. His mask shouldn't look insect-like, needs to lose the bland gloves, have more ninja-looking vestments, and just overall wear more clothes. The end product has to look more like a thinking sentient character and not a hollow vessel.

Lots of cyborgs look "human enough". They're still cyborgs. The word "cyborg" doesn't mean you're a robot or you can be programmed, it just means you got machine parts attached to your body.

yeah, i get what you are saying. but in the storyline of mkd i read that smoke was reprogrammed by noob(old sub-zero) to help him fight. so does that mean smoke is not a cyborg right???

Programming has nothing to do with it. A cyborg is ANY man that's part machine. He's a cyborg both before AND after Noob has control of him. And Cyrax was a cyborg when the Lin Kuei automated him and he's STILL a cyborg even though Sonya and Jax helped him get his free will back.
