They just need to make Baraka look different IMO. They did an amazing job translating his MK2 look for MK9. Looks perfect. I'd like to see him look more brutal, and monstrous. And a reworked set of teeth that make sense if it looks faithful to Baraka. Also, make him less spammy as the CPU..his fuckin moves in MK9 are so annoying to play against.

I really wish they would loose the whole tarkatan race idea, they are mutants, so make something out of them, make them something else aside an army of clones.

That female Tarkatan with the ponytail would make a great concept for a new character.

I thought the exact same thing when I first saw Baraka's ending. A female Tarkatan? Come on how cool would that be! But only if she doesn't replace Mileena tho

Baraka has been boring.

As much as I loved Baraka troughout most of MK's legacy, he's been a boring character storywise. Always following the one who takes control over Outworld, never doing anything that would benefit himself or just his own race. Again, he's been a favorite of mine for a long time but it kinda weared off the past few games.

I can see him being excluded. His already dull story went nowhere in MK9, outside of getting his ass handed to him every time he put his face on screen. It's too bad, but MK has many characters. There's boud to be some that never really develop with their story. Baraka definitely is among them.


On a side note: if there will be a Tarkatan in MKX, I want it to be Baraka. Don't pass up on him before he actually develops!

He is one of my favorites. Of course i want him in MKX. I love his savage, his brutal temper. This guy has so much potential as a real badass. But NRS screwed it up with him story wise. Well i think it's not to late to give him a more important role in the story. And to be honest.. who would fit more in the darker atmosphere of MKX if not Baraka?

Not really much point in replacing Baraka for another of his race seeing how they all do the same thing. Now I would like to see them get a little more creative with his design again.

Honestly, Mileena and Baraia's kid is the only other child I will accept besides Cage and Sonya's. These two have been hinted at having a relationship since Deception and their relationship was going to be shown in MK9, but got cut. Other kids can't really exist because so many died. Mileena and Baraka were both still alive though.

Oh and maybe another Zaterran. One that's waaaay smarter than Reptile.

You know, I'm a huge fan of Reptile, but yeah...pretty much this.

As for Baraka, keep him and just give the bastard some screentime doing something important, beyond growling, threatening, and otherwise getting his ass handed to him.

If Baraka is not in MKX, I will vent lol. Although, if we were to get a new Tarkatan, the female or the spiked one would be a good replacement.

I've wanted a female Tarkatan with clawed nails like Lady Deathstrike from X-Men for so long... But we'll probably only ever get to play as Baraka of the Tarkatan race. :/

Their relationship was hinted at MK2. In MKD they ended up being enemies, because Mileena took Kitana's role as leader of the Edenian army and made them fight against the Tarkata. She thought Baraka's army would win but in the end they didn't, and when he discovered that the one behind that loss was Mileena things got nasty.

I would rather have Baraka thanks.

Yeah id like to see Baraka return. They just need to give him some attention in the story other than taking orders and getting his ass kicked.

Baraka has been my favorite for a long time, but yeah, they need to enhance his story big time. MK has always had a problem with developing its "assist" characters.

I'd personally like to see the fallout for the Tarkatans when it comes to the chaos that envelops Outworld after Shao Kahn's death. Perhaps half the clan supports Mileena and the other half supports Shinnok.

Or perhaps, as has been said, Baraka is blamed for following the guy that got defeated and he's challenged by a rival and defeated, who banishes him and a small group of his loyal supporters away. Perhaps Baraka and these other Tarkatans have to join forces with some unlikely allies in order to get back what he wants, which may be his leadership back, but could be much more.

I'd also want to see his look drastically altered. Perhaps his face is scarred from his defeat, so he hides behind a hooded cloak. Same goes for his followers. I could see his moveset being more acrobatic, while this other Tarkatan, his rival, could also be in the game and he'd be much larger and brutish.

A story like this, while not entirely original, could afford for some unique twists and turns. Maybe the brutish Tarkatan was working for Baraka the whole time, and it's part of Baraka's plan to infiltrate this new ally, or something along those lines. There are possibilities for him as well as his race, which is why I'd like to see them go a bit deeper in to it in the next game and not just have him blindly support whoever the big bad guy is.

I would like to see a new Tarkatan at this point. Sure, Baraka is classic, but I feel like they would be able to do something more at this point with a new Tarkatan. Like many others have said, Baraka has become nothing more than a punching bag. I love his ruthlessness, but unless they plan on really fleshing out his story and making him more than a lackey of Shao Kahn, Onaga, Quan Chi, etc., then I see no point of him returning.

Since this game seems has a few different rulers of Outworld over the course of its 25 year story, why not have a Tarkatan trying to take the throne for himself? They could do that with Baraka of course, but it would seem a bit strange considering his role has always been basically a servant to whoever was the main antagonist of the game.

Don't take away Baraka's glorious bald head from me; I must see his Tarkatan scalp at all times.

Hoods and helmets are a last resort for the mutant general. Surely we need encourage ugly bald villians now that Kahn is gone. Baldalities for everyone!

At first I thought no to Baraka/Mileena having a child but then I realized the massive potential it has. Baraka could be threatened by his heir as the mutant offspring could mature and age very quickly much like the well known Alien Xenomorph. Since we don't know how Tarkatan biology works, they could age quicker than normal and they may have shorter adolescent phases. Mileena is known to be very young in terms of Edenian standards and as a clone made by Shang, she has could have nontraditional genetics for her young. Mileena can keep her personality as a psychopath while her maternal instincts kick in.

Since MK2, actually. I know another user already pointed it out, but I like this ending so I'm gonna post it anyway. I'm bummed seeing their whatever-it-is relationship form was left on the cutting room floor in MK9, Baraka desperately needs the fleshing out.
