I want Baraka back. He us a great character. Really wouldn't want to see another another replace him. And mile Ena is close enough for female version

Baraka always has been one of my favorites, but again MK9 kinda made him a derp much like the other punching bags Reptile, Sheeva and Ermac.

Also I hate the fact that Baraka doesn't look al that different from the other Tarkatans.

So I kinda hope on a new Tarkatan male (not female, I want Mileena to be special) with more razor blades over his body.

You can see that Baraka has all these little razors on his arm, I hope this New tarkatan has those things all over his body! Maybe a Tarkatan that has enhanced his own body with more razors in his back and multiple ones coming from his skull, arms and maybe even knees.

I just hope there will be a cool new tarkatan that isn't like Baraka an almost 100% clone of the rest of his race.

And a big no to a female tarkatan other than half-tarkatan Mileena.

The Same can be asked about other characters. Nitara or new vampire? Drahmin or new Red Oni (despite it being the Oni Tormentor)? Moloch or New Blue Oni? Hotaru or new Seidan? And Baraka or new Tarkatan?

How should I vote 14 new characters with new Tarkanan.

I don't like the idea of this new male tarkatan enhancing his own body. I think it would be much cooler and also more realistic if he was an alpha male tarkatan.

It was just a little idea, I rather meant that Shinnok or whatever evil-guy is in charge of the Tarkatans forced those changes on this new Tarkatan-guys body to make him a executioner or whatever.

Or a very feral and horrid monstrous tarkatan male has taken control from Baraka and doesn't like to follow orders any longer, the Tarkatans finally become independent women! Uhm independent creatures!

Here's my problem with Baraka, two things...

1.) His story is very, very dull. I felt like he had nothing to do in 2011 other than just being there because the Tarkatans were. That was it. He hardly had any importance going on and that's disappointing to the fans. Give him more of an important role then maybe he wouldn't appear so dull.

2.) He's either in, or he's out. Here's the list:

Mortal Kombat 2 - Debuts
Mortal Kombat 3/Ultimate - No show
Trilogy - Shows
Mortal Kombat 4 - No show
Gold - Shows
Deadly Alliance - No show
Deception - Shows

So what, is he NOT going to be in this because we gotta continue this nice pattern here?

No. There shouldn't be a new Tarkatan, male or female, until they do something cool with Baraka first.

I would rather just keep Baraka. Hopefully he looks close to his MK4 design. That one was my fav. What variations could he have? They are kinda hard to think of. I Like your idea of blocking with the blades. Reminds me of Wolverine.

I think Baraka's face needs a redesign for MKX. His teeth were way too big for his face in MK9, so he looked really really goofy when he talked. Shrink it down alil, he'll still look scarey.

I'd prefer a new Tarkatan. Maybe Baraka and Mileena did the baby bump.

The full-blooded Tarkatan female sounds pretty cool actually.

Variations -

Cold-Blooded - Add the dash jab or it could be a low dash jab.
Tarkatan - Blades are permanently drawn or out. Adds chop chop blade.
Rampage - Increase damage by 10%, also increases damage taken by 15% (would something like that be logical? I don't play online so I'm not sure how this would factor into those mechanics) adds blade spin.

How about both Baraka, and a new Tarkatan? The female one from Baraka's Mk9 ending, especially. Since when is there a rule against including two Tarkatans? All three Shokans have appeared in the same games, three times, in fact.

I wouldn't mind a new Tarkatan of some sort. No disrespect to Baraka at all, he's one of my faves, but I'd like the Tarkatan race to be expanded on a bit beyond him and...well, two thousand dudes who look exactly like him but don't have uniforms quite as nice.

If they had did the "baby bump",I would like it to be a male. Considering we have a female from Sonya and Johnny.

He would have to have mommy-like specials as well as Daddy's. Teleport, roll and face bite from Mileena. Chop Chop, blade spin and shard from Baraka. I also like the blade scrape kick.

Baraka/Tarakatan as good guy = a very big nono for me.

I want him to evolve, but not into a good guy, that doesn't suit him at all.

I'd have Baraka in the game, and another tarkatan on the opposite side. So we can see some dynamics of what it means to be Tarkatan in someone else's eyes.

I wouldn't be surprised to see him sit this one out, he has been in EVERY MK game since 2004. I don't want him to however, as he is my second favorite character in the series. I want him to take on the role of a General of the Tarkatan army and maybe be rivals with Reiko for the leader of Outworld's army. He has a very bland story which leads it open to expansion but they have to make him more prominent or else he will fade into obscurity which he has already done a good job of doing.

If that select screen with the fake silhouettes was any indication, Baraka will probably be back, since Barack Obama was one of the silhouettes.

I have to say no. Unless the character earns a fanbase at least as big as Baraka's, then the character has no future. There's a reason we haven't seen Frost and Sheeva much in the series, and though some people don't want to acknowledge it, those girls do have fans. Many fans. Those fans didn't save those characters in the end.

If they're going to do a new Tarkatan, he has to be day and night from Baraka. We're talking mage-outfit-and-ponytail kind of different. I would be alright with a female Tarkatan I guess, but female monsters just aren't my thing. Don't see myself getting hyped for that.

I think the subject is moot anyway because Baraka was known as the only Tarkatan smart enough to have any responsibilities and roles. He's the exception to his race, and yet he's still no Hawking by any means. Maybe the new Tarkatan SHOULD be good. If he's going to fall into the same race-anomaly category as Baraka, we might as well make it a different anomaly.

A good Takartan would be probable. At some point in that 25-year span, Shinnok threatens Outworld as well as Earthrealm. I can't see the hordes of Outworld bending over for that. With Baraka, Li Mei, Reiko, Bo Rai Cho and the many other denizens, that ought to be some juicy conflict. There's also the possibility that someone capable has assumed control of Outworld too.

Whatever the case, I just hope they used MKX to alter the character cliche patterns that Baraka, Reptile, Scorpion, and others suffer from.

They all look the exact same so I say they might as well keep Baraka. Unless they make a good tarkatan but they all are under the same clan and they all follow Baraka so I doubt that would happen.

I would definitely prefer to have Baraka back. He is just an awesome character in my opinion and i believe there is more to him than just being a glorified lackey.

If they are to introduce another Tarkatan, it should be a female i believe. Change things up you know.

But here is my crazy theory, That Torr of Ferra/Torr is actually a Tarkatan. I think it would be interesting if this was true. I know he doesnt have the signature blades but this can be explained by either, having lost them somehow or being born without them and due to him not having them he is shunned/bannished.

I'm sorry but anyone that can survive Kung Lao's hat split fatality and pull off a staple look deserves to be back on bad ass factor and willingness alone.


However that doesn't mean i'm against the idea of a new Tarkatan in any way. As long as it's not a female we already have Mileena for that and I dislike her regardless so big no to the female idea.

The Tarkatans may feel that Baraka was a weak leader obeying the defeated Shao Kahn and be replaced. Or Baraka can be killed by Shinnok making room for a new leader.
