The only things they took from MK9's were part of Johnny's, Sektor's and a little bit of Smoke's. Out of 30 something characters, that's hardly anything to blink an eye at. Nah man, like 6 or 7 MKG endings are canon. Same with Deadly Alliance. And they took more than a few ideas from the ones that weren't fully canon too.

So, now that pretty much all the endings are known, which do you hope becomes canon for MK11? Here is what I am personally hoping for;

Spoilers: (Highlight to reveal)
- Raiden and the Shirai-Ryu attack Kotal Kahn's armies. Upon defeating Kahn's forces, Raiden claims dominion over Outworld. Kotal Kahn calls upon the Elder Gods for help and thus begins the newest Mortal Kombat tournament.
- Johnny Cage sails to Shang Tsung's island and finds the tome that reveals the secret to a long Edenian life.
- Mileena's soul awakens inside of the body of one of her clones, granting her another chance at life.
- Quan Chi becomes a willing tool of the Elder Gods. His primary purpose is to destroy Raiden, restoring the balance of power between the realms.
- Takeda and Kenshi set out to find the Daegon. They find the Red Dragon headquarters and inside of it, Caro, who transports them to the cave where Taven is sealed. Takeda frees him.
- Erron Black is revealed to have been hired by Shang Tsung long ago and used his sorcery to slow Black's aging.
- Ermac is ambushed in Shao Kahn's old fortress by Shang Tsung, who steals his souls.


Edit: Just saw one of the ones I listed just got confirmed through intro dialogue. Nice.

So far I've seen 7 endings (Ferra/Torr, Erron Black, Liu Kang, Raiden, Reptile, Takeda and Scorpion). I've enjoyed all of them and have noticed how interconnected a lot of them are which is great. All the ones that I've done seem mostly canon to me which could be interesting.

I saw earlier in the thread that some people didn't like Ferra/Torr's ending. I thought it was brilliant. It shed some light on their race, an inevitably tragic one that made them sympathetic characters. And I think they will return, albeit in a different form.

What if Kano Jr. was actually trying to tear down the Black Dragon from the inside? Ironic enough that some folks reimagined Jarek as Kano's son.

Raiden, Kotal, Johnny, Quan Chi, Takeda and Ermac's I think will be canon. Part of Erron's was already confirmed by in-game dialogue between Kotal and Erron Black where he confirms he's older than he seems.

Raiden, Kotal, Johnny, Takeda, Kenshi, Ermac & Erron? They seem canon to me.

IMHO, the order of the MKX endings:

Mileena(X)-->Liu Kang/Kitana-->Scorpion-->Raiden/Kotal Kahn-->Kano(Sub-Zero(?)-->Reptile-->Ermac-->Ferra/Torr(?)-->Erron Black/Jax/Sonya-->Johnny-->Cassie-->Jacqui(?)-->Takeda/Kenshi-->Kung Jin/Kung Lao-->D'Vorah-->MKX Ending post-credits-->Quan Chi(X)

(X) = Maybe, but I don't want him/her return in MK11.
(?) = Doesn't connect with anyone else, can be non-canon

I think i like that except. We know in the after credits Liu and Kitana are now the new rulers of the Netherrealm. So they're obviously still dead. The way I see who'll be canon:

- Raiden/Kotal Kahn
- Ermac
- Erron Black (except the part where he shoots Cassie and her crew)
- Takeda/Kenshi
- Kung Jin/Kung Lao

-Ironic that Kotal is a lot like Dark Raiden for Outworld.
-Could awakening Taven bring Armageddon closer?
-Is the original Kitana still alive and did she kill Shao Kahn?
-Were Motaro and Shang Tsung also revenants and did the latter along with Jade also go MIA?
-Will Kung Lao gain some sentience while still a revenant?
-Why didn't Scorpion and Noob look like zombies?

They more or less always looked like that and the designers got lazy with the Revenants all having the same skin/eye/vein looks.
